Greatly appreciated! Can you assemble the light so that I can see how the various bits go together?

I will try to make the whole unit. The internal parts may not be identical, but the goal is to make it look the same when installed on the dash. I assume most of you will want to use LED light bulbs, so that's a consideration. Plan B is to make the cover only.

That would be an impressive accomplishment, either way. Of course I am equally impressed that not one, but two different guys successfully got batches of early hubcaps made, and now @ cruiseroutfitters is gonna have the equally elusive bugcatcher windwing weatherstrip . I am starting to think nothing is impossible in the FJ40 world, and it's worth sticking around just to see what happens next!

My retirement plan (ie my 2/71 Darth Vader Dash Light :D) made it safely to Racer65! Hopefully he can pull off another of his miracles!

Hmmm... Maybe he can add some sound effects to the light. When turned on, it would

Might freak out the girls though...

You have my attention! I can definitely have one of these. It would be one of the coolest reproductions along with the mats that we are patiently waiting for to materialize...

Ah, but will it still be your retirement plan once its repop'd? That's what I thought about my stash of cowl vent weatherstrips before they were repop'd.

Winch covers are/were still available like last year ... The originals are $300+ :)

You would think they were golden ... But... Guess it's sterling silver

How much are the repros?

Some people may not realize this; it was always more expensive than most winches, and very hard to get hold of. Now it is highly sought after. If a ratty one goes up on eBay it will get bid up like crazy.

The repro I sell is $250.

.....IF and when that reproduction mat hits the market....."Katy bar the door", UPS will be overloaded with brown boxes out of Palo Alto! And my fat ass will be one of the first in line, probably right behind @78fj40mg! :)

How about an affordable solution for the following?

It's been over a year, but the windshield spacer is finally here. It fits perfectly.

You now have a great OEM alternative for $115. Thanks to MUD member @mcjb for assisting with the testing a while back.

Some weatherstripping for the FJ45 folks: The discontinued rear window weatherstrip and corner window glass weatherstrips for the 45 pick-up (which is not the same size as FJ40). These products are sort of low hanging fruit, because the rubber profiles are the same as other existing FJ40 products. Only difference is size. We can offer good prices too due to economies of scale :bounce:.

I'll be focusing on more discontinued pieces this summer, starting with other low hanging fruits like the FJ40 rear hatch window glass weatherstrip that is currently unavailable.

I'm really liking the background photo on the lower left of the winch covers!

Maybe you can get a discount by autographing it for him :D You do have a nice 60!

Racer your proportioning valve is a really nice piece. Im going to install it today. But the instructions on your site don't work. Adobe says it's not a valid pdf
Did you download it first as opposed to viewing it directly in the browser?
I just checked and it worked fine. PM me if you are still having trouble; I can send you the PowerPoint version.
