Awesome. Worth an alternator and a starter for sure!

How did the rear axle seals hold up to all that water?
better then others, minor water in the rear diff. The front was completely water tight.

wow. been away from the site for a while and this rig has definitely got me wanting a SAS 100!! Great job on the rig. Can you post up a link with all the cruiser trek pics?

On the water in rear diff, do you know how it got in?
Was it in the oil? Or in the axle bearing compartment that has just grease?

I need to start saving my pennies now even if I will never need something like this....I would be the KING down here in SOUTHEAST! LOL I would say EAST COAST but 1LOUDLX will likely get one before me...haha

What RTT did you bring for the ACT trip? How did it perform? Did it stay dry?

Sorry for the late answer on your question, I used the ARB Simpson II RTT. It was great, but I would much rather put it on my M100 trailer then have it one the roof. But with this trip and all of the water crossings, it was better suited for the roof. There where 2 M100 on the trek and they both flipped, one during a water crossing. That would have been a disaster if that had happened with the RTT on the M100. As for its performance, it handled very well. No leaks and we had serval days of rainfall. Very easy to pack up, the only downside was that I have not quite figured out how to handle the tent cover when the tent is deployed. Its too much trouble taking it off every-time, and its makes getting in the rig on that side problematic.

Hi Paul

My 10 yr old son and I were drooling over the OJ article! Great write-up but I wish there were 10 more pages about it!

BTW thanks for answering my questions above.

Just got the issue, nice writeup, outstanding Cruiser. Very nicely modified.

Pesimsmd - How is the SAS'd White Rhino doing? Haven't seen any updates on here in quite awhile.

The White Rhino continues to perform well. It did have some miner difficulty in Jan at the Lone Star Jambo. At the same time, I destroyed the driver side hub, the passenger side birfield, and the transfer case, and shattered the drive shaft. Was able to rebuild the t-case, and get her back on the road. My next trip was to overland expo, on the return trip from AZ qshe throw a engine misfire code, about 100 miles from home (Not bad for an engine with190k). I replaced the #6 cylinder coil pack, but she continues to mis-fire. Just waiting for some time to really dig in a figure out the problem. Not yet sure what my next trip will be, maybe Moab next year?

These were all new parts in the beginning build correct? Can you provide more detail on the background to these miner difficulties?

The things that were new was the drive shaft, the hub and brifield. The T-case was the original with 180k miles on it.

We came to the conclusion, that the size of the ledge and the weight of the truck may have contributed to the drive train failure.

Still trying to sort out the coil pack issue. Changed out the #6 coil pack with new spark plug, and she still misfires. Considering changing all the coil packs and sparks.

Is it possible #6 injector is causing misfire?
