I just read this whole thing through, twice. I am an awe of how awesome this thing is! To say i'm a little jealous is an understatement. Way to be brave and do something different. Love to see some more action shots as well.

long thread but really nice to read it!, wonderful rig!
I wonder about how is doing White Rhino now.
Also why they set 6" lift and not 4" lift?

I don't think Paul is on mud a lot. I know he still uses the heck out the truck and when I last saw it at Overland Expo last year it was doing well.

As to the lift height, that is what was needed for clearance and the tire size the customer wanted. We were not that obsesses with actual lift height, but more on fit, function and overall use of the truck. Even at 6" that thing is pretty stable.

thanks for reply, is good to know, I have a couple of friend that are running 6" lift on their 80s and are very happy, but I like the 4", I am not ready for 6" lift yet. Anyway it was a really nice job that you did to the White Rhino!

Sorry its been so long posting any updates, but the "white Rhino" has been a traveling beast. Went to Overland Expo 2011, Toyota Jambo in Gilmer TX 2011, 2012, Big Bend National and State Park in Feb 2012. The Modifications keep coming. First Mod was the Slee Drawer System.

Next was the 1000 watt inverter

Due to the extra weight I add Airbags to the springs to level off the truck.

see how low the rear end is

now with the air bags, a much better stance. Airbags at 50PSI

Was not finished yet. Put LED light in throughout the who truck. Also placed LED lights on the Upper rear hatch, to give some light to access the drawer system.

for the long drives I added XM radio

I also got ride of the lap top for use of the iPad. Bought a ram mount for the iPad and it works great.

With all of the GPS and Mapping apps it really works well. It also frees up room for the passenger.

The final mod placed on the truck was Spressomon onboard air with Sanden compressor As of now it was a great investment. When we where at Big Bend National park we ran out of CO2, due to a air leak.. Now I don't have to worry about that ever again. I am still plumbing it up, but it works great. It took 2 mins at 750 RPM to air up my 36 inch KM2 from 8 psi to 36 psi. Not bad.

Still need to install the pressure regulator, and a drain plug and plumb a fitting to the front of the rig for airing up the front tires.

this is the coolest 100 in existence. Whats next, a SAS in the rear:p

Glad to hear you are using/liking the spressoAIR Paul!

Paul-
I find it interesting that you have probably the most well built SAS 100 (oh wait I think you have the only one) in the country and you are still running $80 shocks. :flipoff2:

Is your thinking reliability, ease of field replacement, good enough, or other or have you just not gotten that far yet?

Regardless, thanks for the update. In 5-10 years if I still have my truck I think I'll send it Mr. Slee's direction.

I have not yet gotten to the shocks, they seem to be working fine. I do want better front shocks, if not I will need to fabricate a front sway bar to make highway driving a little more tame. I have other things that I need to do first. I need to convert from full time 4WD to part time 4WD. The weak link right now seems to be my AVM Locking Hubs, have broken them twice. I still have to remember that this an expedition vehicle not a rock crawler.

Some more shots out in the wild, Alaskan Rainbow, our trip to Big Bend National Park.

Why the need to convert to part-time 4wd?

Has the center diff be removed/disengaged?
