As matter of fact, both kicked in, the vsc kicked in going do a 10% grade with a hair pin turn, sort of freaked me out, I was not expecting it to kick in, but I guess it was the oversized tires and the turn that forced it to kick in. Actrac kicked in while I had the rear diff locked, but only for a brief moment.

Thanks for the reply. Sweet Hundy!!

Can't wait to hear about the trip when you make it back. Looks like a blast.

Paul, is it cranking and not starting, or not cranking at all? If the first, it might be flooding. Try cranking with the foot all the way to the floor.

It's getting worse (taking more and more attempts) when I turn the key it does nothing, not even a click. After multiple attempts it just turns over.

if you take it to a yota dealer, take a video of the reaction

on a serious note, hope you get home safe and on time.

What was the cost of the SAS conversion if you don't mind me asking. Your rig is awesome by the way.

I am sending Spresso new starter parts probably tomorrow. I could send another set for your starter as well to Spresso's abode.

On the starter issue with the water crossings and rough road. Have you tried pulling the relays and large fuses in box on DS fender under the hood to clean contacts (were they plug in) and make sure they are seated?
Mine was doing the same thing reseated all the relays and fuses there and it started working fine. Of course it could be the starter.

Edit> If the starter relay in box has failed, is loose or terminals corroded, failure mode is no sound when you turn key to start.

Home sweet home

Final made it back to Houston, what a three week adventure. I was rough on the rig but it got me home, KM2 went flat with a side wall puncture, a drive shaft issues, starter finally died, but in my drive way. HID headlights went out, here are some of the pictures, more to follow.

reason to avoid HID .. about the starter could be considered as " normal " wear and failure after that amount of water .. a bit complicated with automatic tranny .. but glad you made home !

keep the pics comming !

The best part is you giggling like a school girl after the crossing... :D

Awesome. Worth an alternator and a starter for sure!

How did the rear axle seals hold up to all that water?
