Point well taken. I'd be tempted to throw in a couple of window units and a wood stove if it were me. Cheap enough to be at least a little more comfortable during the extremes.

Looking for any windshield installation shop that is familiar with older Toyota’s on behalf of my friend who has a 1990 Hilux. (Even better of they offer any corrosion treatment while the windshield is out)
It’s similar to the 60/80 series windshields that have some chrome trim parts. We’re still sourcing parts (to include an OE windshield), but any help is much appreciated. Most places he’s called has just refused or are bamboozled by a non-US truck when it shouldn’t be any different than a US market Toyota Pickup.

You appear to be in UT. Is your friend in North Carolina? If so, where?
Whoops, I haven’t updated it yet. We’re both in Raeford/Fayetteville area since 2023. But he’s willing to travel a few hours to get the job done right.
Wilson's Auto Glass north of Charlotte. They did my 60 quickly and flawlessly when others couldn't. They are the primary glass installer for TLC 4x4 as well.

I can honestly say that I have never had a good windshield install on a cruiser in the Charlotte area. They have all either leaked, squeaked or both. My 80 was done recently and it immediately leaked and the glass moves around in the seal, causing a squeak. I ended up sealing the outside perimeter myself with polyurethane sealant to stop the leaks, but the glass still squeaks in the seal, especially in cold weather. Toyota FSM for the J80 specifies that sealant is to be used between the glass and seal and between the seal and the body. Everyone that has replaced windshields for me tells me they will do that, but they never do. I have not used Wilsons Auto Glass. Maybe I will try them next time.

If the glass shop @open country mentions can’t help, give Jacob’s glass in Durham a call. They did my most recent 200 series windshield swap and I think they did the best of the shops I’ve tried. A little different car for suee sure, but always good to have another option.

Another vote for Jacob's. They're an established glass installer right down the road from me and while I haven't had them do my 60, I have had them do other vehicles over time and have been happy. Old school crew there.

Give them a call first and make sure you like what you hear. This isn’t something you want done twice if you can avoid it.

Henry's 2000 LX470 is getting a new front suspension this week. I'm replacing all the A-arms, and the old ones still look to have pretty good large bushings in them. I will also have differential mount arms with reasonably good bushings. Easily good for trail spares, if not budget roadworthy replacements.
I also have Cardone CV axles, which are going to be replaced with the real McCoy. They need new boots, but I also have a boot kit (the authentic kind). The bearings look to be in good shape, I just don't want them on the truck.
All of the hardware is also being replaced, so that's available, if there's any interest.
The ball joints and tie rod ends are shot.
I'll be storing everything in the trailer, until and unless someone howls for them.

Update on the LX4760 A-arms: The large bearings are indeed still serviceable, however, as I mentioned above, the ball joints are gone.
I'm storing them until I clean out my stash, then they're going to the dump. I'm willing to install new aftermarket ball joints, if anyone is interested. I'm not providing the ball joints, just installing them. LMK

Looking for any recommendations on body shops in the triangle/raeford/fayetteville/southernpines area. Got some rust under some of the window runs that need to be taken care of... Probably needs some sheet metal welded since some of the rust holes have penetrated completely through.
Putting a lift on the 40 tomorrow if anyone wants to stand around and drink beer and shoot the $hl+.

The pre wrenching! Since I moved in I'd been haphazardly throwing crap everywhere in my garage and finally today I committed almost the entire day to organizing it. Wanted it to be in good sorts before I pulled the 80 in. She did fit, on rollers that were completely flat. And let me tell you the oil haze is still clearing out of the garage!

Not necessarily wrenching but just want to say. This new wrap on my 80 steering wheel feels amazing. Pretty easy to do and I wish I would have done it so much sooner. Took me under 2 hours. I got the “kit” off amazon and I think it looks great and feels nice and soft.
