They're called push pull cables at McMaster Carr. They come in whatever length and config you need, and have only a few inches of travel.

I'm using them with the nwf triple shifters in moonshine. You can call nwf and see what lengths they have in stock, then buy from them. I have a pair I can sell you if you want to have a look, or you can order from nwf/McMaster

Edit with pic. Brackets and cables pictured came from nwf. The two aforementioned cables are two of the ones pictured here, I had to swap them out for longer ones.

I am looking for something a bit less robust, or at least takes up a lot less real estate. I am familiar with what you have in the photo, first time I ran something like that was late 70s on trash truck PTOs.

Plan is for everything to be tucked up close to the bottom of the dash. One of the larger factors is just to do something different and I already have the units for the axles.

Yeah from Bristol. No other relatively complete trucks there. Couple stripped shells and mainly just parts. He had a 62 roller that was getting picked up soon.

For those who have desmogged their 2f, which kit did you use/recommend.

I’ve gone into information overload reading mud and debating between Jim C, TLC, or MAF. Would like to keep HAC

There's no kit per say. It's just a reconfig of the vacuum lines and plugs where the air rail goes.

What @GLTHFJ60 said…. I picked up a 60 that has the MAF “kit” on it. It’s just threaded plugs for the air rail holes, a bunch of silicone “caps” to terminate unneeded vac ports, and a pulley to replace the air pump. Nothing you couldn’t source yourself, but your time is probably worth the $$$.

From what I remember researching about a year ago, I figured the MAF kit would be the most complete and then send the carb off to Jim C for desmog “tuning”…and the dizzy for recurve (I think Jim C does the dizzies too, but it could have been one of the other big names)

Definitely true. I see differences in how the egr is blocked off and didn’t know if my trusted local friends had any preferences. They seem mostly the same. General consensus is the big brass plug for the egr seems preferred.

Was definitely going to send my carb and dizzy to Jim once I do it and track down his info. There’s a Jim desmog kit in the classifieds for 125 that I may pick up since it seems like a good deal.

I used the Jim C smog pump pulley, air rail plugs, EGR plug (with fresh gasket) and rubber plugs for the air cleaner. The carb is just a matter of blocking off a couple of ports that you don’t need. I swapped the carb for a Cityracer unit. I re-curved my own dizzy with a set of MSD springs.

I did the same DIY dizzy recurve thanks to @roadstr6 and I’m currently experimenting with a few different springs. Worked like a charm.

I used the TLC parts, followed that 8 or 9 page PDF floating around here on Mud and it all worked great.

This is probably the pdf @77CruiserDog mentioned. I used it, too. If you need a trollhole carb to use while you’re rebuilding the one you’ve got, I’ve got a spare in good shape.

Yep. Check out @roadstr6 Rushing Turdle build. I think it’s on page 8?? I am on two silver springs but going to two blue springs when I get back from our road trip.

I packed my “go bag” and some boots… that is all. The rest is my wife’s stuff.

Had a few friends over to work on the LX450, I found this when putting the new oil cap on.
I used a mittyvac to get the large paint flakes out / other schmoo on that shelf / threads.

Is it worth pulling the valve cover off to clean out the area around the valves? or would a oil change in short order catch this in the filter?

Not worth pulling the valve cover and throttle body imo. If you're bored, go for it, but nah.

Put some seafoam in there and run it, then change the oil. Done.

alright, was able to rig up the LX450 to drive.
I went to jiffylube (closest place that was open for doing NC inpsections)
The guy at Jiffylube said that I didnt need an inspection to transfer the title between 2 people? (I have my title notarized / signed by me the previous owner)

Do I just go to the DMV and start the registration / new plates process?
