The front 3rd member with 4.88 gears weighs 66lbs. I will find out how much the rear 3rd member weighs tomorrow.

Pulled a couple main bearing caps yesterday on the '67 F135 in hopes of finding the source for the trash that had collected in the bottom of the oil pan.

Appears as if my clean, paint and re-gasket approach has taken a turn toward full rebuild. :(

Still not painting the body...dammit!

BWAHAAAHAAA!! We’ll see about that! OCD is a bitch ain’t it!? It does make for some awful nice cruisers after you’re done with em though.

what does the crankshaft look like?

Got moonshine back in the healing room, and pulled the D300. This will be the last time pulling a transfercase without a jack  Yeah, the 205 setup is just a little bit larger.

Pulled the ecobox apart to put in the new input gear.

New one on the left foreground, old one on the right. The bearing journal is much wider on the old one. The NP241s (guts of the ecobox) came with 16mm and 24mm wide input bearings. I was told this one had the 16mm, and ordered the input shaft accordingly. In fact, it has a 24mm input bearing. Hoping that powerdrivendiesel will allow me to exchange the shaft I got for the one I need.

Not a big deal. Will get it sorted, then put back together. This is what the new input shaft will look like inside the planetary gearset.

I didn’t realize you were running a 300 in Moonshine. That was a recipient for failure in a rig as big and heavy as that. You should be good to go with the 205 .....

205 wasn't an option initially because I couldn't get gears low enough for it. Stock is 2:1 and iirc it's difficult/impossible to come by 3:1 gears for it. JB Conversions isn't good at keeping parts in stock, and my previous dealings with them have been less than stellar.

Was leaning towards an atlas, but this ecobox/205 setup is more better :D

Well the next page of my AC battle on the 80 has unfolded. My compressor has kicked the bucket and I need to replace it. Rock Auto carries a new Denso for $185 + shipping. Anyone have any suggestions on brands? I will swing by Napa for a quote tomorrow.

i replaced my compressor about 10 years ago. i got it from the company below i think the compressor and dryer came to about 150. call them
(this company techchoiceparts on eBay)

I knew my gantry crane was missing something...a turbo diesel!

Its good someone came up with a easy 241 doubler vs the old 203 method.

This should hold up to the 4bt fairly well vs the 300.

Interested in your long term review as this may be the way I go eventually with whatever project i'm able to pick up.

How long till the engine swap?

Took the '97 LX, full of tools "on the road" today to do a couple things:

OTW to Costco to deal with a broken security key for a lug nut on the '96, I got fed up with my squeaky front end issue. Found the squeak was a loose OME shock in the front right side. Tightened it up enough to make it stop . . Had to do it at storage as my floor jack and jack stands are over there. Great place to work on a car BTW LOL.

20180724_101846.jpg

Travelled over to Costco and beat a socket on the broken security lug. Thx for the advice @Roxx and @jfz80! Ended up having to use a 20MM vs the 19 or 3/4" . Worked great with the 20MM, tho. Dewalt impact is nice compared to my old Ridgid. Took like 2 mins - spent more time talking to a guy with a Tesla who wanted to know what I was doing LOL. Had to install 4 add'l lugs. Costco left the car parked missing 3 lugs . .which is fine.

Swapped over the front to the brown cloth seats. Love the material and the exta room, but the support isn't as great.

Removed the floor board steps in prep for the pick up of Metal Tech sliders on Friday @Trollhole 's

Removed a back seat to allow for room for those silly orange boxes. :)

To do still before the trip to SC: Frontrunner rack install - ran out of daylight and I have to now work all night to get caught up for work :(
