My HF rolling tool chest has been going strong for 9 years. $139 deal. I also found that they've started selling 3 sizes of small Pelican-style cases and are putting them on sale pretty often to get the word out. Apache brand. I have 3 that have all survived the hose test thus far. Interior foam is the pick apart kind.

I found these in my truck tool bag today. That means they came with something vehicle related since it never goes in the house. Electrical outlet cover screw for reference. What might these be for???

Safety head allens. So you can break into the bathroom stall next to you when yours is out of paper i think.

HF ratchets suck giant nuts IMO. Would never touch them.

Have you gotten your hands on one in the past 8-months/year? They’ve made night-and-day improvements on their fine-tooth stuff, I just bought a couple for redundancy.

Same warranty as Snap-on, and I like that they have the button to release the socket. I have a Snap-on 3/8” ratchet and small sockets and allen sockets can be kinda annoying to remove if they aren’t clean and dry.

That also explains the small red silicone sleeve..

Sometimes you just have to improvise and make your own tools.

No one sells a pivot pin puller for a lexus. The SST was near $500 for all the parts and I my slide hammer was just too big to get in the space needed to pull.

So socket and 19 cents in hardware and I was in business. I'm actually surprised at the force it took to pull the pivot pins out of the lexus steering column. The first washer actually started to warp and dent inward so I threw another on there for good measure.

(oh and a new 10mm wrench because despite the fact I must own 5 I couldn't find one anywhere)

All time favorite ratchet is my Gearwrench 120XP 1/2" drive long handle. 120pts of engagement and an extra stout handle.

You like them / have been pleased? I need some better ratchets as my classic raised panel craftsmans have such a s***ty feel. Super low tooth count too.

I second the 120 gearwrench. I have a 3/8” version with a flex head that’s nice. Feels like good quality stuff.

I didn't really need a 3' long pipe wrench but a $26 Williams tool version seemed like a no brainer!

I needed that when I removed the ends from my tie rod and drag link. My 10" pipe wrench with a pipe was barely enough.

Picked up a used skat blaster yesterday from a guy in Fuquay...and while there I spotted a fj43 top outside. Turns out he's rebuilding a 43 that's his personal toy and had recently acquired from an 'importer' in FL. Typical South American lipstick job, but was cool to meet another cruiser head.

This blaster should work out good and is the perfect size for my shop/space. After ordering some replacement parts, decent media and some accessories...it wasn't that much cheaper then buying new. Oh well. After cleaning everything up I added an LED light that's attached via magnets.

Wire wheeling small / medium parts can kiss my ass!!

Any club member have any experience with a northern tool or harbor freight sand blaster? I want to blast the frame in the back yard and want to purchase something that will work but is pretty cheap since I only need it to work for two vehicles and won’t really need it after that. Of course I don’t want to buy something that is so cheap that it doesn’t even work.

I am want to use it on a frame, axle housings, and possibly body panels

I have no personal experience but have done some research on the pressure pot blasters while deciding on a cabinet. From what I read, out of the box they are kinda s***ty BUT with a bit of modding they can work great. Specifically the plumbing at the tank bottom in off the shelf form is too small and prone to clogging. The threads I read on garage journal were around using larger fittings/shutoff valves which in turn require extending the legs of the tank. All in probably 40-60 bucs in additional parts.

The alternative is a much more expensive unit from someone like bad boy blasters.

I plan to eventually pickup one of the HF models when I blast axles and other larger parts on my yellow truck.

Del, I have a small media blaster gun. it works ok...only holds like a quart of sand...you can borrow and try to make a bigger hopper to feed it

They have one like that at harbor freight that I saw. I didn’t want to get it until I looked at some of the reviews. For $20 I’m going to give it a shot and buy one along with some place diamond media. The reviews say that if you screen play sand from Lowe’s you can use it in the gun. I am already prepared to flap disc the whole frame just in case.

Save yourself the headache, and get a mobile blasting guy to do it. you're going to spend a lot in media, even if you spray over a tarp and recycle. That's assuming your.compressor is stsong enough with a large enough tank, and you dont get the sand wet and clog the gun.
