Hello Clint79,
Excellent idea, thank you; however the two spare carriers are built and in place. Still, if i don't like that arrangement down the road, there's an option, eh.
Where in WA are you? I fell for that state years ago, spent a lot of time in Port Hedland and area.

Cheers, n

I am in the huge big city with 4 skyscr apers... Perth
Port Headland is chockers full of landcruisers covered in orange flashing lights and mining stickers
:)
were you there for mining or fishing

There is a fair few of these double tyre racks on troopys going around, just another option and idea for all that are running cheese cutter treads on there troopys

sorry for the continued tangent
but Im digging the double tire rack.....

but thinking about doing something similar but single tire rack mounted (half of the double tie rack shown) with tire running close to outside of back door on and with steel frame on BACK of the tire AWAY from the truck / frank / etc...

with tool storage and tug rope, blah blah blah on the out side of the steel

of course going the other direction - it would be "sweet Sweet SWEET" to have 4 37 inch tractor tires mounted on two double mount spare tire mounts stuck on the back of the truck

trading the truck tires tor the tractor tires once you get in the mess seems like a good idea (head is in need of my medication right now, and lots of it....)....

of course probably better to have the buddy who has the "truck" mounted on the tractor tires and give him a bottle of budlite in order to pull you out..... an even better idea might be to get the buddy who the "tractor" mounted on the tractor tires....

hmmmmm.....

Cheers eh!!!!

Hello Wongtsenhin,
It is going to be one heavy pig. I will have to reduce what i carry as much as i possibly can. I estimate 7000 lbs. which means 3200 kg, a frighteningly fat bastard.
One of my aims is to be able to never buy another car, so there's a compromise there, and i will find it.
Even i am scared of the weight, yet it should be a seriously solid pig.
When i get the car on the road, i will weigh it, and post the result here. Give me a few months.

Cheers, Mk61+

3200kg isn't far of some of the fully decked out 80s and 105 series getting around,
It'll make those leaf springs nice and comfy :D

This is a spectacular build and I'm envious. I'm wanting to try to implement some of the cool stuff you've done. Thanks for sharing!

although it is designed to have parts removed, i do believe you will have little to fear of being T boned , having jaywalkers stroll out in front of you (unless they are drunk or high) , or getting rear ended.:bang:

stick some Red Cross stickers on the side :hhmm:

:steer:

thanks for the compliment.
when you get your Adventure Tours up and running post it up, a trip to S/A is in the plans for when the wife retires...
cheers

Exactly, an 80 series with the 1FZ weighs 2960kg bone stock.. 240kg in accesories is not hard to accomplish, plus youve got leaf springs which can handle that weight and more.

Eager to see the finished product!!

quick post:
making the York compressor mount ...
first the flat plate for the compressor to mount to.
then the piece to the block
