Very enjoyable thread! Everything your doing looks to be well thought-out. It's going to be an awesome cruiser when it's done. :)

A tip from the mines for that crappy bell crank on the emergency brake - remove the metal sleeve that fits on the steel arm. It eliminates the tight fit and most of the corrosion issue - just pack with your antiseize and it'll never bind up.

Rear hand brake

You need a bit more prastice of putting these together.
The 2 top springs are backterfrount, light one is frount, heavey yellow is rear. The bottom one goes behind the ajuster and you are missing 90506-12029 the return spring on the back shoe. Apart from that you have done well.
brake assembly complete
rear brakes waiting for some bolts from the states

I picked up some new factory arms for a BJ75 (drum brake) a while ago and noticed that that metal sleeve is now brass to help with the dissimilar metals problem. I;m not sure how much it'll help but it couldn't hurt. Antisieze is always a good idea. I've seen those boots completely packed tight with aluminum dust.

I thought you were talking about the leaf springs at first so I revisited the photos and noticed that the spring manufacturer (Dobinson?) puts a military wrap and a slipper spring on both ends. That seems like a really durable setup. I'm impressed. Probably not the flexiest setup but this rig will have plenty of weight to force articulation.

Wou ..

1. You missing the anty ratteling metal thingy for calipers ( pads ) :D

2. Very interested in your top mounted intercooler approach we shoudl chat about that .. I'm working in flange adapter for that.

i have the factory cross over at the water jetters to get some flanges made up. then an adapter to the intercooler and back down to the turbo discharge tube.

springs for anti rattle pads, yep, they are there.
the rear e/brake assembly:
tops springs ... makes a difference which is out and which is in? please expand as to why?
bottom spring ... agreed, should be on the back side.
tiny springs ... yep.

thanks for the comments guys.

Top Brake springs.

The heavey spring [Yellow] goes on the rear shoe, light one on the frount, otherwise it wears the rear shoes. You are doing a great job on a great truck. If the hand brake doesnt work good, send me a pm and i will give you a few tips.

for those gents interested in the rear door storage boxes please email me again.
there are 2 prices, one for 3/8ths heavy duty box and the 1/8th light duty storage box.
