I've always admired volleyball as a sport!

wayne the tires look great.

Are you getting any of the turbo parts or exhaust ceramic coated?

i got the manifold heat PC and the shield, that is it.
this truck is not a race car so squeezing the last possible hp out of it is not in the plans.

plain old relibility, moderate boost, coolled charge is the extent of the mods. if the owner wanted to drop another $30K then we could tear the perfectly good engine down and do a serious build up.

employee appreciation day ...
i can appreciate an employee that looks like that.

I could even overlook the grease under her fingernails.:)

the tires fit inside the fenders of a stock 70 perfectly legal. in Canada the law is no tires may stick outside the sheet metal. the law isn't enforced much unless you get pulled over by a cop that is having a bad day or is a power tripper.

the more i look at these tires on my 70 the more i am thinking i need to get a set.

I know you drove them around a bit and had only good things to say about them. Would like your opinion though on how they'd be for a 60 that's used to drive to the trailhead (sometimes 800 miles or more) wheel then return home. (RiverShiver, McGrew, Moab, plus local stuff). Sometimes this would be done in poor weather (rain, snow, etc). Currently using BFG mt's. Any thoughts on the advantages/disadvantes of these tires?

Thankyou!

gut feeling:
if you get these tires sipped then they will work well in most conditions. as is they would make poor ice and snow tires.
that is about all i can see right now. sorry i can't be any more help.

reassembly of the diffs after powder coating the housings.
tightening the cap bolts is easier with an axle to prevent the rotation of the housing.
torque wrench everything properly.

rebuilding the tranny and swapping in the lower gears from an auto 60.
i have to say that the kit i recieved from John at Radd Cruisers is second to none. the price was excellent, the service fantastic and kit is extremely complete. I have yet to deal with a better company.
note: on the 5 speed t/case don't forget the 5th gear oiler on the face of the first half case.

upgrading the t/case vent.
the original vent has a spring loaded rubber stopper that retards the flow of air up but will seal (yah right) the inward suction of water.

installing the idler bearings, remember the spacer.
installing the high low gearing
i had a gear from Oz that replaced the input gear, the spacer and the PTO gear but in this application i needed the PTO drive gear so the custom gear needed machining to the proper length. I am sure they had the proper custom gear in Oz for this application but it was just as effective to cut this gear down. the machinest went through 2 sets of teeth and an hour to cut it down. it was hardened clear through.
what this special gear accomplishes is spreading the shock load to more coverage of the teeth on the output gear. the H55F has a nasty habit of wearing the output shaft where the input gear rides forcing the replacement of the shaft.

this should make the tranny last much much longer.

the HZ engine is in the first pic
the PZ engine is in the second pic
the proper holes to install the H55F onto the back of the PZ are there and are tapped ready to go.

so

good information to have in the back of my mind.
