I just purchased a 00' LX 470 last weekend. Rust free, great maintenence records and no accidents. With that said, I drove it home and to my mechanic to have them inspect it and he mentioned a possible transfer case issue.
When shifting the gears a small noise is made. He recommended I take it to a transmission shop to let them look over it and get a better idea. He said no 4x4 fun until then. I don't see a lot of transfer case issues here so I wanted to get an idea of what to ask about. I found quite a few online from $350-600 should the need arise. The only other concern of mine personally is the AHC. The records showed it was topped off but never flushed and replaced. The prior owner (it is a 1 owner vehicle) never used it and didn't know what I was talking about.
I can attach a video in a bit if that would help with the clicking/shifting noise.
