I removed my transfer case to replace my transmission and there are dark stains around the top and passenger side. No obvious leak points. Fluid had been changed a few times in the past. The mating surface with the transmission looks great. No leaking from there.

Not sure where it is coming from FIPG perhaps? O-rings at the sensors?

Any ideas?

Make sure to install a new oil seal to the input shart of your transfer. Use an OEM or leave it alone.

AFter I got my transmissions replaced, I noticed a seelapeg at the mating surface of transfer and transmission. It never leaked before. Recently did all gear oil/fuilds and noticed the transfer had little too much of oil.

I have seals for the transfer and transmission I plan to install.

This seems to be leaking at the top and middle of the transfer case or from sensors. Was your leak in a similar position as mine?

The mating surface is clean. Appears to be from the top and back side.

Replacing all the shaft seals. And I'm going to refill and replace the transmission and transfer case.

If it's leaking from the fipg, I'll see it. Not too bad to take off the transfer case and reseal if needed. Hopefully it doesn't come to that.
