I know more rental property owners that have horrible stories of bad tenants and court system that protect them then rental owners with good tenants. Our court system is broken in too many ways.

There is the law, and then there is justice.
Heather tells me that going to the rental house at 3:00AM with a shotgun to fix a leaky faucet is generally frowned upon. I call it justice :) "There are woods around there, with scary critters officer."

At the Anne Frank Memorial today... Don't expect to see much in the news. Like it says, they are everywhere. Heil Hydra.:bang:

W in TF is wrong with people!?! If you advertise something for sale, ESPECIALLY if you actually are the small independent upstart you are portraying, and are contacted by a potential customer...I would think that you would be especially helpful when answering questions!

I found an 80 series I saw on FB marketplace that is in Raleigh. It meets the criteria for me to take the time and actually go look at it. Like always, I dug a little deeper into the seller's profile to see if there were any red-flags. This one was actually a "business" page for what looks like a one-man niche LC sales upstart....cool...seems legit...I'll see if I can help a brother out during all this COVID nonsense.

I contact the guy and get an immediate response. He openly gives an unsolicited reminder about some minor rust issues he noted in the write-up and with pics...I'm feeling good b/c I was aware, and it didn't seem like he was trying to hide anything. I asked if I could come see the truck this weekend...as his schedule allows...."no problem, how about such and such time?". Cool...all I need now is a specific location to go to...

me: "Great, see you then. All I need is an address for where you are."
him: "I'm around Capital Blvd and 540"
me: "There's a lot around Cap Blvd & 540 and I'm unfamiliar with the area. Is there a more specific location you can give me?"
him: *silence*
him: *couple hours later* Sunday may be a better time.
me: no problem, what time and where?
him: around lunch

MFer....I don't thing you understand how this works!!! I am 100% WILLING to alter my schedule, drive an hour away from home, and potentially hand you THOUSANDS of dollars...ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS GIVE ME A REFERENCE POINT CLOSE ENOUGH FOR ME TO COME FIND YOU!!!!

Every time I talk myself into being more positive and accepting of the general masses, some f@ckt@rd like this comes along. If anyone needs me, I'll be back here in full "I f@cking hate John Q. Public" mode.

P.S. - I still don't have an actual location.

Went through this a bunch when looking for a car for Andrea last weekend.

We went through similar recently when looking for a pulling truck

"Oh yeah, come by Saturday and I can show you the truck"
Heather " Cool, we'll come by Saturday and if I like the truck I'll give you a deposit, you get the title and we will pick it up Monday"
Idiot, "Well we have a month old baby and I only want to bring her out in the cold once in order to sell the truck""

What? Who the hell brings a month old kid outside for someone to look at a truck?? Does the kid have the title?

Heather "I'd like to see it in daylight"
Idiot "I don't get home till 7PM weekdays"
Heather "That's why I want to come Saturday during the day"
Idiot "Can only bring the kid out of the house once when it is this cold"
Heather "GLWTS"

Because our species was unable to successfully survive the ICE AGE....oh wait....

Completely random Rant. But whoever designed the effin' DRL sockets for the face-lift VW sedans (mine is a 2016 Jetta) needs to have all of his or her fingers broken Casino style on both hands. I drove around with the DS DRL out for a year because try as I may I could not get the :censor: thing to budge. Finally got that one swapped, and the d@mn PS went out. Been running for 6 months on that one. Try to replace it tonight and while I can get it to move, I cannot get the :censor: thing to un-seat. So I have no skin left on the back of one hand and the wrist of the other from all the sharp things to poke and scrap you while trying at the ridridiculous angles and I still don't have a working PS DRL...

I am about to order some aftermarket housings with the LED built in because tearing the whole GD front off the car is more appealing than fighting with those pieces of S for one more minute...

Rant off

I thought felons on probation weren't supposed to have guns? I thought we had laws for this. Along with the other hundreds of draconian laws.

Good to see WRAL did some hard hitting journalism and investigation of how and why a known felon was in possession of a gun. You know, figure out where the break down is instead of shouting for more gun laws every chance they get.

How can these people look themselves in the mirror?

OK, time for a rant.

The USPS and their last leg delivery partnerships with FedEx and UPS can suck on a dirty rabbit turd.

Not the first time, but the most recent. Wife ordered some new overalls, they ship UPS and track all the way to Smyrna (for reference we live in Middle TN, near Nashville and Smyrna is like 15 miles south of Nashville) where it was handed over to USPS for the final delivery. Sooo, instead of putting it on a truck and driving it another 20-30 miles and delivering it to us, what does USPS do, they put it on a truck and send it to Memphis where according to tracking it has been sitting for the last week. this is not an uncommon deal anymore, but it is by far the worst. Before this a book she ordered made the same reverse trip and sat for 4 days before turning around and coming back to the mid-state.

It was free shipping, but hell, I'd pay for it if I knew that UPS would bring it all the way to the house.

And if the USPS wonders why no one wants to use them for anything other than junk mail, unless you have to, this is why. They are broke because they can't seem to read a map. I know they have a process and kind of like a layover flight is generally cheaper because they are going that way, but really, if they don't have a facility capable of sorting mail in Nashville, then they are more doomed then even I realized.

I mean, I have had my share of issues with them all, but for me at least, UPS has been pretty steady, followed by FedEx, and in dead last (I'd drive it there myself if I could before putting it in a USPS envelope) is the USPS.

I just don't get it...

That is all.

Sidenote: things must be going pretty with in the ONSC, no rants since January, February must have been a good month.

I totally agree with the suck factor about the last leg thing. I find there’s not as many businesses using them as there was a few years ago, tho.

It was really fun when I ordered a new laptop that came with 2-day shipping, only to find that they meant 2-day to my local USPS who then took another 5 days, counting a weekend, to get it to me.

And, believe me @jynx, some of us could write volumes this year...so there must be some good self medicating going on!

Legit rant. Why do wasps like to make nests behind my driver side side view mirror every spring? Especially in the truck with no AC???

Last year they were even finding their way into the 80’s headlights!
They probably are attracted to your sweet, lovable nature. Its like a nectar to them

For me it’s not wasps, but wrens! I can’t leave my garage open for more than an hour a day without a couple of wrens trying to build nests. Last night I shut the garage door and one got trapped in there overnight. Bird sh@t all over Amanda’s LX and the poor bird was practically squawking its head off at 6:00 this morning, wanting out.

have you tried placing an owl figure in your garage?

This! I love Carolina wrens, they also evidently love my riding mower. So much so that they made a nest in it during early spring of 2020. I didn't realize that they had moved in until the eggs had hatched. Couldn't move the nest after that. I also found out it's illegal to do so because of the migratory bird act. So my mower was a home for birds all summer long.

Yesterday was fun.
Get up, make coffee. Go to my home office. 5 minutes later I realize I must have left the tap on or something as I could hear one running after the current song ended on spotify.

Go to the kitchen.... water all over the floor. Leaking from the fridge. its coming from the freezer, fridge and the water connection in the back. Pull the fridge out..... turn the valve off at the wall. Push fridge to the sliding glass door in the dining room to get its leaking ass outside so I can start the clean up. Realize its too wide for the sliding door. Pushing it back through the dining room into the living room and out the front door. Now I have water everywhere. Wet dry vacuum and lots of towels later all the water is up off the wood floor.
Start taking everything out of the fridge and freezer and get the water out of the inside.
Best I can figure out is a valve broke somewhere in the ice maker and just let water pour out. Fridge is now back in the kitchen with water not hooked up and its doing fine.
Glad I was home.... in the space of a few minutes there was water everywhere. Could have been a whole lot worse.

After my 3 hour detour from work. Everything is going fine after putting it back. So I do a load of dishes in the dishwasher. Come out later for lunch........ water leaking from that friggen thing....... LMAO. All I could do was laugh. That one was just a clogged drain and an easy fix though. Glad I had the wet dry vac and towels out already.

omg NOOOOOOOOOO

I'm just glad you're a giant and can move a whole ass fridge all willy nilly. I would have absolutely ****ed.
