I lay on the horn, not a friendly beep beep. Also, if they are looking in the rear view mirror at me I also politely gesture to them that they move off the side of the road to a safe place where we can discuss the finer points of driving. Thank fully I have not had anyone take me up on my hand gestures (yet).

Even added an extra pair of horns to the ones provided by the factory.

Next up are the people that move away from red to green light (after the pause for getting t-boned) at an incredibly slow speed and then catch a attitude when everyone runs up behind them. I believe these folks are looking to instigate trouble on the road. Anyone have any insights as to why they do this? They are not even texting or have others in the car with them. Basically they are going insanely slow on purpose. I googled it and found nothing.

TBH I feel like people do this to me (run up behind me after a green light), but I'm driving normal speed, shifting through the gears. To prevent it, I feel like I've got to really race through the gears. I've chocked it up to the difference in normal acceleration with a stick, vs an auto.

Point I'm not so sure the problem is people driving slow away from a red light to instigate trouble. It's more like people are driving at a normal (arguably relaxed) pace and everyone else has lead feet.

These are not manual transmission vehicles and the speeds are very slow, as in barely moving at all. All traffic is stopped in this situation. Take in account the pause for the t-bone, then apply gas, not even close to flooring it and the car in front barley moves. I will keep a closer eye on what is happening here.

Got you. I've seen that, most often people on their phones not paying attention when the light changes.

When I have my wife with me, I need to be easy on throttle, brake, and steering inputs. consequences of a failed neck surgery. Those habits now carryover to when shes not in the truck. So, now I drive like my Dad did, which I guess isnt a bad thing.

For the most part, I'm not in a hurry to get anywhere. There are exceptions. I'd have a hard time living in RDU or Charlotte now. rush hour traffic is just insane

I am beyond thankful that I live out in the country and work on my own property. I have worked on my own property for about twenty years now. The weird thing is I moved from the Philly area in 1995. The traffic there was incredible, everywhere you went. People did stupid stuff but the majority seemed to at least understand the rules of the road.

I moved to the FL Keys, Key West was town and traffic was a totally different thing. Nobody in a hurry to get anywhere. Biggest problem in town were tourists walking out in front of you in traffic. "Hey idiot, this aint Disneyland" is what you heard most from drivers. Most streets were dead flat and straight, 35 MPH was top speed on Key West.

Fast forward 10 years and I am living in Hendersonville, NC where the roads are curvy and hilly. There is a white line on the side of the road and a ditch. Everyone drives like they think they are Dale Earnhardt. This was like culture shock to me. Get out on the highway and it was a free for all.

Now, most of my driving is around here, Spartanburg area. When we travel I am amazed at the total lack of consideration for other drivers, traffic flow etc. Big rig drivers are all over the place on the road, crossing lane lines all the time. People do stupid stuff like mentioned above, that damn near stopping to make a right turn thing is a pet peeve of mine too.

Thank God I was taught to driver as a defensive driver. Always looking for the escape route if something crazy happens. Be safe out there, some texting bozo has a target on the side of your truck! Shouldn't we be permitted to bump the rear bumper of a texter in front of us? Give them a little wave in their rear view.

My two cents, in the South, I try to gently tap the horn. Every stupid fawker has a gun and can react badly. In Atlanta, Miami, leaning on the horn can get you shot, I just don't do it since my 80 isn't armored up. In NYC, Chicago, up north cities, absolutely lay on it, then roll down the window and yell "Hey! I am drivin oveheah! Its a turn, not a career decision!!"

Best advise I got years ago at a racing instructor clinic at Barber, the group was talking about how bad Alabamians drove, like described above. The speaker then said something along the lines of "you know, you can't instruct everyone on the road, people are absent minded at best when driving, and will quickly forget your encounter, and if you are going to teach them, make sure they pay up".

I have survived here in the South for 51 years. I attribute that in part to the fact that I do not use the horn. Ever.

This would be the giant:

I like my horns! Wakes people up and they don't mess with me in the 40.

You go to the website of a large local luxury brand car dealership. You input what you’re looking for. You input your location. The first car that hits is 3000 miles away and slightly outside your parameters. The next 3 are already on their lot and are exactly the same thing as the distant model, obviously outside your parameters. They conveniently have none of what you want when using the search function but have at least 3 when doing a manual scan/search of on site inventory. I really don’t see any reason why I should be excited to give $40-60k to this business model. They sell cars. So does every other car dealership. I know what I want. Win me over by being honest about what you do and don’t have on site. I’m in no rush. Actually, go the extra mile by doing that AND still keeping the snack counter at the service area well stocked. Maybe add some beers for customers who’ve bought three or more cars there (in case someone is listening...).

They aren’t

Amazing in 2019 that so many businesses are still clueless on customer experience.

I wouldnt even consider that service, but horrible marketing. If they are not efficiently pairing customers with product then their site is costing business. Guessing the people that should know, dont, and that lack of engagement is what would concern me about other aspects of buying.

Some douche dick face hit my parked car at work today...and I park as far away from any other cars as possible, I’m literally the only car parked for a couple hundred feet. People suck.

Damage isn’t bad but I bet Audi hits me with a fee during the lease turn in process.

There are cameras at work but not sure if they cover where I park. I might get lucky or at least figure out where to park for next time. I might have found my culprit but only video evidence would prove it.

Kind of a reverse rant here...don’t flame me too hard, lol!

Turned the s3 back in a couple weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised with how much Audi charged for this damage. $310. I would’ve bet money it was going to cost me $1500ish.
