And watching the football game, this commercial is up right after ATLANTA thugs score! You would think some snowflake would have at least wonder if this commercial could be a little too much today

OK..i gotta rant.

so I won that 500$ MT gift cert at Logans run and I am looking for tires. so I aim for some @ $150 each =$600...so I am thinking 100 bucks right????...... NOOO.....add 200 for shipping plus 190+ for local install.... plus I have to submit a W-9 tax for the gift card (means I get to pay my self employed income tax rate on it...$125..)
or I could just get the same tires at 4 wheel parts with free delivery and install for $600 .....WTF .... looks like the free install offer is gone now too....

Because in order for you to get the gift card they make you fill it out. Ran through the same thing on my 500$ gift card. It really ends up being way less than that but then again anything is better than nothing. Plus I like the Degan tires.

On facebook marketplace for Greensboro, NC area, there was a small tire shop in Lexington NC that was selling Deegan 38 AT's. 285/75/16 for 600 cash for a set, mounted balanced, out the door. he had a couple other sizes listed. I think their shipment was 120 tires total. have no clue if they were blems, 2nd's, "fell" off a truck, or what... That was back in Jan.

You are not reporting, they have to deduct the donation. So you as a beneficiary get the income. Another way to do it will be that the donation was done to a non profit. So the non profit will have to put it on their taxes and the company can deducted. it should be much taxes that you have to pay. You will be very upset when you pay 50% of the winnings in a lotto. I hope you win it some day tho. I am not a tax professional and i am sure we have one here but it is crap that i have to deal every so offen. 1099 and stuff like donations.

I rather pay 50% of $100 million than 5% of $20K.

But, rant, Scott Clark Honda, what a bad experience. So brought our "new" 2005 CR-V there to get a new master key and for a recall on passenger airbag. I expected, as a dealer, they will have a long list of things "wrong" with the car, blinker fluid, alignment (new tires and alignment done at tire shop), etc. But I did not expect the "tech" working at the car, which I scrubbed clean, to carve his initials on the passenger dash while doing the recall work. They tried to tell me the belt needed changing, $240, material $28, 30 min of worth of work. Amazing

That IS amazing! A well respected, intelligent cruiser owner that doesn't know that dealerships are scam artists...

;)

Evan's Honda in Mint Hill. He's your new guy. Trust me. I'm pretty sure they can do recall work as well. They only use Honda parts and he's been doing it for many, many years. Whitney (Evan's wife) answers the phone and schedules the work. She is sharp as a tack and can pretty much diagnose any problem you might be having with a Honda over the phone. Yup. They are that good.

I knew they scam, but had to take it to a dealer for the passenger airbag recall. They scratched the hell out of the dash, that was my rant, not the "glowplug injectors you need for the turbinator sequencer". Still, amazed how brazenly they quote crap like that. The airbag light was on, I thought it was due to the recall. Once recall done, the airbag was still on. I turned right around in their parking lot and asked them if it was supposed to stay on. One guy said no, one said yes. So back to the Tech it went. Came back with "it must have been in an accident" until they check the carfax, clean (which I knew of course). So they told me they will need a car for a day to find the issue, would cost some bucks to diagnose. I diagnosed it with google, simple issue to reset the light after the recall with a paper clip and a pencil (not kidding). So I did that at home yesterday, and sent the service manager the pictures of the carved out dash. They offer to "make it right", I told them I dont trust them to make a jam sandwich.

Evans Imports, will give them a call to install the door lock actuator.

You can buy official Honda parts online anywhere and any authorized Honda dealer will warranty that part for a year. If you have a good mechanic who will warranty his work then why go to a dealer.

The funny part is most of us will buy a dealer maintained truck with our eyes close. Then that means it is ok if some body else is getting robbed at the stealer ship but not us. Tell me what is more important. My cars dont see the dealer for nothing other than a recall but i wont be able to sell them to any of you. I wouldn’t even buy a car from me. Sorry @JohnVee

You are right, and you should cut your losses. But I will sacrifice, willing to help. $50 for your fj40.

My rant, i hate with people low ball me on my cars too. People have all kinds of money rich bastards!!! We should be in socialism where all the wealth is distrubuted equally. (oh crap i am going to be sent back to Venezuela, dont i?).

I better answer just NO!

Hehehehe.

I have not taken a vehicle back to a dealer since 1999. Not even for a recall. Here's how much I despise dealerships - I have actually paid for and installed recall replacement parts myself to avoid taking my car in! Of course, my vehicle records don't show that the recalls have been performed but I know they have been done and done right because I did them myself. Dealerships get a big kick out of flashing over custom tunes that you paid a lot of money for, locking up your programmer and causing a lot of headaches and extra expense. When I go to a dealership to the parts counter I can't help but feel sorry for the poor folks sitting around in the waiting room waiting for their car to be "serviced." They always look like they've been hanging out there for hours and when it's all said and done they will be upsold and end up paying out the ass for nonsense like cabin filters, wiper blades and brake "inspections." Nope. Not me. I just say no to stealerships.

Only good thing I ever got out of a dealership is the new gas tank in me 60.
