Does anyone know the torque spec for the GM "one ton" TREs? These are the drag links and TREs that 4x4 Labs uses. I have searched here and Pirate and either I am sucking at the search or everyone is just wrenching them down to the "umph I think that is tight enough spec".

According to the Autozone repair guide they should be torqued to 45ft lbs. If the castle nut does not align so you can install the cotter pin it says to tighten until you can align the nut to install the pin. Never back off the nut to align nut to install pin. Hope this helps someone in the future.

I just put a new DL on my Chevy and I tightend it up gooda nd tight 40-60 lbs and then a little tighter to install the pin.
