I received a new roll of canvas yesterday and the color was the same as the batch of rolls I just did-which is good news

I will be starting a new batch in the next two weeks, lot of people have been asking for me to do another batch, will post when they are done and still have some available room on the list. I will ask that we keep sales off this thread-message me if interested in one, but showing picks of your roll with tools would be great on this thread, thanks.

I will post here any new lessons learned and hints, I also have a PDF for one of the rolls I did at a Scale of 1:1, but want to clean it up a bit before I post it here. it will print at 24x36 I can get them printed for anyone for about $2 a sheet (actual cost), but wait til I posted to see if this is something you want.

Oh and i did an order on the nice wooden handled screw drivers and a few other things, shipping $94 from Japan EMS, just letting you know that shipping will sneak up on you, it was about 1/3 of the cost of the the items total.

you should start a for sale thread or move to the small business section - looks like there will be a demand for these

You are right, I wanted to put that in the last post I did. I will post when I am done here but will start a for sale post to take care of the sales. I will not be doing enough for small business section, Here will be information on construction and lessons learn

Here is a PDF of a earlier roll, not the one I just did-but close, sometimes referred as the 23mm roll because of the two piece 23mm lug wrench instead of the one piece 21mm in the later rolls-I do believe. I will be working on the Drawing for the new roll I am getting ready to do.

In the drawing I did modify it a little to fit the larger grip screw drivers. as I did for the rolls I just made.

This can be Printed with Arch D (24x36) standard paper to get the scaled version-

I will be Making a few changes and updates to the next roll I make to get it closer to OEM. The ones I just did was a cross between the older and later Tool rolls, next batch will be closer to the later rolls as I get better measurements. When I made the first set, I only had the earlier roll measurements, and used pics to make some changes to the later style to get it close, visually it would be hard to see the differences between the ones I just did and the next batch.

I will eventually do a drawing of the Medium roll as well. -DONE

UPDATED: NOW BOTH 21MM AND 23MM ROLL, 21MM ROLL WILL BE THE NEXT BATCH I DO.

x2 on the drawings... most excellent ... i was wondering if i would be able to swipe my buddies from a 64' without him knowing... now i don't have to do that :)

well he probably would have lent it any way :)
Even with the drawings, it is nice to have an actual roll to compare to

Look at post 125, I cleaned up the drawings and added new ones

I will be starting a new batch soon, and will be using the drawings for 21mm and Medium Rolls as template to see how it goes, will document the new template

Really nice job on the Tool Roll! Thanks again for making these. Finally got to replace the motorcycle tool roll that has been under my seat for years.

These are so nice. I love seeing product like this being generated by folks on the forum. I'm on the fence as I had resolved myself to another solution and already purchased... but you know how it goes with Crusier stuff. Ugh!

Again, really nice work.

2nd Batch with lessons learned!

I took one of the plans I did Tool Roll 21mm, printed at full scale (local print shop) ANSI D size so it gave me 1:1 Scale on some of the drawings.

I bought two pieces of foam board at Micheal's for .99 each (on sale) and spray glue was $7 i believe (I had some from before, but the tip was clogged) I glued the printout on the foam board and cut them out, the two foam boards was just enough for one tool roll pattern with a little left over. I had to tape a piece to one board to make it long enough, I used clear packing tape for this.

I was able to cut out all my patterns in a few hours.

Here I am cutting out the pattern, the nice thing about the pattern is, when I start to fold and sew, I have a scaled drawing on each pattern for the correct size, making a mistake will be harder!
