I painted the interior of my body with bed liner so I wouldn't have to worry about floor mats, scuffing the paint etc and it's been holding up great so far but I was still cringing with all the dirt etc getting on the floors. Granted, it's still new and I'll eventually get over it but for now, wanted some mats down plus, maybe take a little of the heat off.
In the past I've done similar things with pickup beg mats and have had good success. Found this at Home Depot for less than $50. It's pretty thin for a bed liner but perfect for my purposes

I started in the back because that was the easiest. It doesn't lay completely flat yet but once it settles down and gets some heat, it should conform to the drop behind the front seats

here is how I approached the front drivers foot well. I made a template out of masking tape. Starting from the tool box and layering/ shingling the tape forward so that I could peel it off in one piece. The tape is stiff enough that it gives a fairly good representation of the material and how it will lay

here's how it came out. I have mixed feelings about the grizzly logo - it was going to be somewhere... maybe next time I would have put it in the bed. overall it fits well even with all the different contours and bumps in the floor. I messed up the hight beam switch - made the cut out much too big

Passenger foot well. I had a tough time deciding where to start and where to terminate the mat. I'm still considering shortening the forward run but need to thing about it/ look at it for a little while. I wasn't sure if I could pull off the area next to the gas tank - figured worst case scenario, I could shorten it but some days you just get lucky and all the cutouts lined up. Again, I was amazed it conformed to all the different shapes in the floor as well as it does

I'd get a small, removable black or gray floor mat, and put it in the driver's footwell to hide the Grizzly logo, and use this as a removable piece that will catch and hold 80% of the dirt from your shoes. 2 mats means even more heat insulation, too.
