running a nearby river this weekend. (sucks when you are the cameraman) No river crossing pics, but the water was never over the top of the hood.

I don't have XL hands so I didn't find it too bad, easier than an 80 series Safari install which has a similar access challenge. The template is fine. But with my XL hands its a RPITA to get at the rear anchor bolt/nut; with small-ish hands YMMV.

Thanks. Was wondering how this thread started, but this mo beta! I agree on the group buy too, ends up being a lot of work for $20. I actually don't know what I'm paying for mine, didn't even ask will find out when I pick it up next week I'm sure it's comparable.
Ben at Slee mentioned a similar deal with the rear window antenna, wasn't sure if it will work but I will find out... I suspect best case is reception is similar to how it is when the power antenna is all the way down, which is ok but not great, depending on location. I am thinking of a "soft" antenna that is tied to the snorkel... like a piece of twin lead of something. If I could restore 80 percent performance in a more stealth mode, I'd be super happy.

Our Antenna is the one thing that is broken on our new 100..
So why not buy a snorkel and rubber antenna vs. replacing the entire motorized antenna??

As mentioned you should really try one of these. Mine has worked better than the stock unit..
Metra - Amplified AM/FM Radio Antenna Adapter - Black - 44-UA205
Looks good. What happened to your GY MT/R's?
do you guys really listen to FM/AM radio still? I don't get why this is even remotely an issue with all the available media out there that doesn't require the stock antenna. Really who cares if they have an antenna or not? for you old fellers you can get NPR on sirius or internet radio through your phone.
Hey Spresso, I have a question on the stock antenna: did you remove it completely, or just clip the wires and leave it in the fender? And did you pull the coax all the way back to the head unit, or just cut it? I'm looking at having mine installed tomorrow, and there's some skepticism about how simple/easy this is going to be.
