Tie rod replacement aftermarket

I have been thinking about replacing my tie rod with a little beefer model. Does anyone know the place to pickup the kind you cut the pipe for and then weld the ends in?

Anyone done this before?

...weld a tie rod? Why? Aside from the safety issues it is most likely illegal in 23 states and Canada. MAF, JTO, Marlin, lcwizard, Budbuilt, etc all make what you are looking for at considerable saving of what the OE tie rod costs.
