ToyotaPartsDeal has one (claiming new), retailing for >$3500. That's insane. I'm now sure how much OEM was, but if prices are going up this will be a real pain.

ToyotaPartsBlahCrapShow, to my knowledge, updates their inventory when someone orders the part. So that component could show available until someone ordered a t-case from them. They also show numerous other discontinued items as still available and will sub out a part number with similar or whatever has superseded it- WITHOUT confirmation.

It's cheap, but you're paying in poor service and probably somebody's $7.25/hr wage to not care about your order or your parts.

A lot of internet sellers list everything that still has published pricing. Discontinued parts and all. In other words the only thing they can actually lay their hands on is the last published price.

There is a replaceable blade option from Toyota. Kinda like the aftermarket concept but it has the Toyota logo on it. Got some for mine and no complaints so far. Can get a part number if you want to check them out.

They are called Sightline. Plastic, they are.

Real Land Cruiser wiper blades are metal like SOLID FRONT AXLES.........

My 80 had aftermarket blades when I got it. Are you saying I should go back to OEM blade insert style?

Well my Sightlines didn't fare so well in the last snowstorm we had a week ago. For some reason my passenger side was clearing just fine but my drivers side kept icing up. Isn't that always the case? I can't blame that one on the wipers I don't think.

But when I got home I extended the wipers so they wouldn't freeze to the windshield. Next morning when I popped them down they tried to flip backwards. When that happened one of them broke the retaining clip that locks the wiper into place. So much for plastic.

So I'll be on the lookout for used OEM insert style wipers I guess, which I kind of was already.

Went for a burrito at KB's in Hailey yesterday, and saw 4 of them in the pkng lot (besides mine)...3 TLC's and an LX. As common here, as a VW in LA. Soon they'll be coming up for sale cheap, for parts.

Lemme know when they do, I need to visit anyway.
