Welp I got the lock and unlock worked out

It's all done... Everything is wired correctly and without the use of the car toys wiretaps. The only issue is that occasionally the remote start is getting a week tach signal so the starter hangs on because the unit doesn't see the engine is running. I've narrowed it down to the RPM terminal on the connector to the unit not making good contact with the pin.

I'll figure it out tomorrow.

New LCA's, adjustable UCA's and rear driveshaft U-Joints came in ALONG with my new Depo tails. My LED taillights have had some holes and cracks in them for a while now, so I've been eying their replacements

Things are starting to roll in for the rear driveline rebuild (see aforementioned rear t-case leak). I think the issues are stemming from a lack of maintenance of the rear suspension and driveshaft, I knew there were issues but I was just putting it off.

So let me explain what the plan is here:

1. Replace T-case rear output bearing and seal
2. Replace my spare rear driveshafts U-joints and swap with the barber poled one currently in service
3. Replace the rear pinion seal
4. Replace banana'd rear LCA's
   • New SPC arms are here, I am going to reinforce them with some L angle
5. Replace worn out adjustable UCA's with new adjustable UCA's

Also bought my friends old 1999 Camry V6 for $500.... Nothing is wrong with it mechanically just has hail damage and some dents, so now I've got 4 cars in the fleet!

So the camry needs a blutooth stereo because I'm sick of listening to the radio... So naturally its getting the Alpine head unit hand-me-down from the land cruiser which means I have no choice but to upgrade to a kenwood 6.9" LCD head unit (DDX775BH Refurbished) with back up and forward facing high definition cameras.

Started installing the new head unit, yea it's an older model but it was a good price and the largest screen availible.
Got the cameras in too, tested them out and they are going to work well. Resolution is as expected, not HD but not lo-fi either.

It's great seeing your rig coming along nicely! I've been looking at that Viper alarm for a while, just afraid of all the wiring. Was it pretty straight forward? I'm gonna venture to install it soon. If you have anything that could point me in the right direction, please lmk!

Yea it was pretty easy once I understood what I needed to tap into. The wiring diagram in the FSM will be your best friend, spend a lot of time understanding which wires you will get into and where. Then label each of the wires, sometimes I write down a translation sheet for all the wires so it would look something like this:

FUNCTION​	ALARM SIDE​	VEHICLE SIDE​
Horn​	Brn	W-B
Door Lock	G-W	L-Y
Flashers	Org	B-R

that way you know what color wire from your alarm harness needs to connect to what color wire on your vehicle harness.

Also make sure you understand Toyota wire color abbreviations, the first letter is the wire insulation color, the second letter is the strip color. L is Blue.

OK it's been forever since I've provided an update, the old trail snail hasn't changed much. I've cut the sliders off (I am getting new bolt on sliders), and she's getting a fresh coat of monstaliner in the next month or so. Other than that I just have a bunch of maintenance to take care of on it.

I do have a Camry update!

Well, I got drunk one night and went at the Camry with my grinder, cutting out all the rust I could find, when I woke up I realized there was no turning back. So I've made several trips to the junkyard to get donor body panels that I've been patching back onto Barry the Blue Cruiser. Now I'm working on the final paint prep and will be masking him up for his date with the monstaliner on Saturday. I'm going back with dark blue (midnight blue) monstaliner, then I'm going to tint the windows and that's that!

Thanks so much for this. Do you happen to know of a thread that explains a little about how to remove the factory alarm RS3000? I've been trying and every single thread I find they end up removing it and not being able to crank it on afterwards :S haha. Good lookin camry

Take the driver seat out for better access, you may also need to remove the front left kick panel left of the dead pedal. Then trace the wiring harness back from the RS3000 control module to where it connects into the main harness. Then unplug it and plug the main harness together. Done

It's very easy.

So my last trip to the junkyard I scored an ES300 gauge cluster, which after repinning the connectors is a direct swap to the camry and it looks much better. Also, today marks 4 years and 50,000 miles since my bottom-up engine rebuild. The first-ever engine I've rebuilt, so I guess I did alright!
