and finally got three of the different color parts installed on the engine. Plus a nice rusty oil pressure sensor. :(

Head went back on great. Used ARP studs, but otherwise followed the FSM. While I was doing the reassembly, I found that the prior owner did not put much care into the wire extensions for the supercharger. Wire shielding was brittle with being near all that heat.
I decided to take the harness apart, and pull the wires out of the loom over by the repositioned throttle body and solder the connections. I took apart the loom and the factory heat tape was terrible - just falling apart. This is the area where the EGR pipe is, so heat can be bad. I am not replacing the EGR pipe; however, figured it cannot hurt to protect these wires, so installed new heat tape.

Got most stuff buttoned up, except the front gear. My poor engine stand seemed like it needed help, so I will wait until the engine is in before I put it on. Still need to swap over some supercharger goodies, but getting close to having it ready to drop back in Boost.

So, how is the price of tea in Japan?

Vacuum hose source? I can google but lazy. Im workin on wires too. Cold out but heated garages are awesome. Looking good Kelly. Think it will b done b4 work draws u away fully?

Looks great Kelly. Did you replace the rats nest of vacuum lines under the intake manifold ?
All hoses are new. From Mr T. Really not that expensive. Oh, the larger 1/4 hoses, Mr. T does not have, so I used pressure fuel hose that fits like a glove. Actually, spent 30 minutes at Napa this morning looking for a heater hose equiv. for the back wall of engine compartment. Replacing all those too.

Too late. Work has me hopping, but finding an hour before I wake the kids. Next step is to tear out the hard heater lines, blast and repaint. I was replacing the lines last night and saw some rust on one of them. They go above the tranny, so don't plan on having the tranny out again anytime soon....

@2fpower in the picture above ^ you see the forward most line, it sort of makes a double ninety or s bend ? That one does not do well with the by the foot NAPA hose. I replaced all of my lines back there with standard 5/8 Gates green stripe and all were good except that one. When I tried to cut a piece for it that one would always kink really bad. I ended up getting one from CDan, though you could probably just order one from NAPA. Also, if you like those factory style clamps that you can take off with pliers those can usually be had at the local ACE hardware.

I agree. That is what I did at NAPA this am. I found a Honda heater hose that appears to be bent to make up that curly Q hose and all of the bent heater hoses needed -- just cut it out the sections needed.

Mr. T wants $30 a hose for each of these:

87245-60340
87245-60480
87245-60310

Dominoes.... took the heater hard lines out -- but had to pull the cats heat shield out to get to it -- but had to take out the cats to get to it -- but had to grind off the flange bolts to get the cats out.

Oh well, was pulling the cats out anyway. Now looking for a flange, as I am going to weld in a new single cat and would prefer to be able to weld in the section on the bench. Anyone have a source for nice weld in flange and gaskets?

Thinking of something like this...

I need 2.5 inch and prefer to get some stainless parts. I have some stainless 2.5 pipe to make up difference.

are you wanting a "stock" flange or other.. I'm running "other" this time on my exhaust.. comes out easier and no pesky bolts and gaskets.. google exaust V band clamp..
you can even get a spare set and reinstall your cat if you need.. Or install a resonator in place of the cat to try and quiet it down.

Don't have a plan.. want to use the easiest setup, so don't care if they are stock or those cool "v band clamps" you talked about. I would like to make it so that I could swap out to straight pipe if I don't like the cat I am putting in easily, so two of the clamps, one about stock location, and the other about where the upstream O2 sensor is.

Helped mate the tranny back up to the engine tonight!

Watch the wheels.on the hoist. Seem to remember one had a bad bolt? Looking good.

Been a while ... time to put up some updates.

Better get an extra big bag of popcorn. Trying to organize pictures, and my cell phone is DOA. Time for open heart surgery on it.
