You back together yet?

Thanks for your patience, had to get a new phone. So, a good friend from Chicago is in town, and motivated me to get this project going again. What you don't see is that in the transmission tunnel underneath the car, I spent hours scrubbing it all clean, scuffing, and shooting it with raptor truck bed liner. Then we scooted the engine in.

Next was all the plumbing for the supercharger. I also took the time to cut the cats out replaced with a magna flow high flow cat. Had to order a dim sum 2 1/2 inch stainless steel pipe from eBay.

Here she is moving under your own power.

Chased down a few antifreeze leaks, broke the engine using Robbie's suggestions in toyota trails magazine; thanks @beno for reminding me!!!

For those with the eagle eye, you'll notice that I move the a/c dryer up next to the battery, using parts from a 93 lc and from Beno.

That's when the case of the while you're at it hit.

Pulled the front driver seat out to fix the stitching

Decided to go ahead and put the seat heaters in, so pulled out the passenger seat too.

With the seats out, we noticed how dirty the carpet was, So pulled all the carpet out. My son help me pressure wash the carpet and all the mats.

While the carpet was out decided to go ahead and put down sound deadener and heat resistant material. I just sprayed some Al's HNR material on my other car so used the remainder up.

While all that was out, decided to lay down new wires for amp, additional power in back and a backup camera.

The seat cover was too bad to be re-stitched, so at the apollstery shop to use parts of the third row seat to make a good bottom cover.

Here are pics of my son spraying the liner.

Still have to weld in the new AC lines, get the new radio installed, back up camera and amp. Also want to cut in the hood scoop from Subaru. Then work on front and rear bumper? I was really looking at touch screen radio head units, but decided to drop in the Scion radio, that I put in FOO. Started working on that today. Oh, and this rig had that cup holder above the stock radio!! First time I saw one in person.

What do you do in your free time? Awesome.

@half k cruiser - the new tufty box showed up today. Plan to paint it with the can of paint you grabbed for me. Let me know the next time you are in town.

I'm going to try and make it Sunday. My wife is bringing the paint to me at work tomorrow. If for some reason you end up in Lawrence before then, give me a heads up and you can swing by the station and pick it up.

Wow!!!!!!!!!!

Came for the pics, amazed @ the "while you're at it" stuff!

While my S/C is ::for sale::, pics in-thread have me flip-flopping in an already "may change my mind tomorrow" situation.

The more I look at S/C under hood pics, the closer I come to flat closing my FS ad.
And somehow I doubt I'd regret it.

On topic, do you plan to run a smaller pulley post break-in on new motor, if so are you intercooling your setup? (Even if not over boosting, are you intercooling?)

I have only driven a supercharged rig for about 3 miles, so no changes planned at this point. I typically am a if it ain't broke kind of guy when it comes to the engine, so I will wait and see how different it feels.

If I wanted raw power, I would have gone chevy engine (or Cummins if I wanted loud raw power).

True 2fpower fashion...Boost is going to be one sweet rig! Great progress!!!!

I forgot to mention that while the driver seat was out that I adapted it to get more leg room. This is the third one that I have done, and went with a different method that worked really better. The front side is the same, trim and bend down the stock mount, and fab up a new one. The back side I typically bend and weld a new piece of 1/4 steel, then fight the mounting points. this time, I cut off the stock mount as high up as possible by the rivet, then took those pieces and bolted them back in the car. Threw the whole thing in there, then tackwelded it in place. Took it off and finished the welds and BAM, done. 2 hours door to door. Note, I did end up putting a scrap of metal on the side of the new mount to give it more rigidity that is not pictured. This works out to be about 2" of additional legroom.

As of this morning the dash is all apart, the clean carpet is in. I modified the dash trim for the scion radio, as well as the side mounting brackets.

Made a bunch of progress this weekend. One of the new things to do was to add the backup camera. Here's a pic of it installed as well as what I had to cut out of the original clock area and the dash to make it fit.
