So I fixed the issue with the hole in the junction.

To help anyone searching

How to eliminate the junction in a 3FE lower radiator hose

I got a Gates hose that had a huge bend in it and looped it off. PN 23035

I added a little gorilla tape where it might rub the inside of the AC mount. Does not touch now but it might when I attach the radiator

There is a small kink in it where the bend is supposed to be at the water pump but that should not be an issue.

Jeep V8 upper radiator hose. Awesome. Just what Grogan needs.

Good news is, the Jeep hose was a success.


Bad news is the damn water pump had a steady drip about every 5 seconds.

I used Paper and black FIPG so I was shocked.

I pulled the radiator (again) and plugged the bottom hose and pressurized the system and the damn Aisin paper gasket between the pump and the metal plate is leaking.

Now I’m out of water pump gaskets.

Shoot me.

Oh and it won’t start now. No fire.

I think that’s a right of passage into 80 ownership. I did the same thing. And it took me forever to find a good used one. I think the 3fe version is easier to find than 93-94 1fz version.

No idea but it gets rid of a lot of old vacuum parts and a pulley (air pump)

I’m my case I found the air rail was broken giving me an exhaust tick under acceleration.

Also, I’m not sure how you would work on this truck without removing the radiator. Hopefully the 3rd. Time I dump fluids into it today they will all stay

I went and got a roll of paper gasket material this morning after the gym. Walked into the shop and just could not deal with it so I left and went to my buddy’s restaurant and smashed this pork chop

I got back and carefully cut out a gasket and then popped off a couple of .40 rounds to use to punch out the holes. Red wanted to know WTF

I literally used 1/2 a bottle of Aircraft sealant putting this truck back together for the 3rd time. Finally. No leaks.

I then got it all out back together and put the AFM on the bench to see if my peek-a-boo pulled the wires loose. Yep.

PSA. Don’t remove these two screws ever
