So, busy day. swapped in the plugs, wires, dist cap n rotor, flushed the heck out of everything for 5 min on each core, rad, and block. blew them out with air, then filled with fresh coolant and distilled water. changed the secondary pcv hose (cracked), couple other small hoses, and buttoned everything up. Put my burp funnel on top.
Put my code reader on it, jump box, and fired it up. let it idle for an hour at various rpms. highest temp I could get with both heaters on was 183, that was with cardboard in front of the rad. shut the heaters off, and highest temp I saw was 187. I'll have to put the lights back in it and drive a bit and see if I got really lucky.
Also took the chance to paint my turn signal filler panel. of course there always has to be one stupid kamikaze bug, right smack in the middle...
