It was good meeting you and wheeling together. Hopefully you didn't do any damage with the skid plate.
I didn't. It was just banging on the U-Joint. The Maul fixed it. I really need to get that IPOR one straight.

Now I just have to figure out the headlights. Friday night we rode into the darkness no problem and I popped my night cherry. The next night, after the flu was a hold of me, I was on my way in just as it had gotten dark and I blew my headlight fuse. I figured it might be my highbeam switch so I swapped it out and left it on low. They seemed really low and then it blew again. I guess I need to trace some wires.

Anybody have a suggestion on checking the resistance of each wire to try to isolate the fault without tearing it all apart manually?

Work your way downstream. Disconnect the lights, relay, and switch, put in a new fuse. Using the same ground each time, measure the voltage at the battery, then at the fuse, then at the switch, then connect the switch and test again there, then at the relay, then connect the relay and test again then, then at the light connectors. If at any point you see a big voltage drop compared to the previous reading then the short is in the wire just upstream from there.

Did you install bulbs with higher than stock wattage? If so you might need a higher amp fuse and you should also consider all new wires if you're using the stock harness. If you already have new wires that are appropriate for that wattage then all you need is a higher amp fuse, as the factory fuse was chosen for lower wattage and little wires.

Stock bulbs. I had not had the issue at all up until wheeling Saturday and have used the headlights often so there has to be a ground issue in there somewhere. Thanks for the advice Yoop.

skilled labor is hard to find :)

I've got to modify my skid plate in a similar fashion.

 that is friggen awesome!

I don't know about that assessment. It has been days without a spirited reply from Chris, so this may have gone over the line and hurt his feelings.

No cruisers in the driveway with big red bows but their was a Barbie 6v 4wheeler, a new tent (Disney Princess),and lantern (Fischer Price) under the tree! My 18m old daughter had a blast. Hope everyone had a good Christmas.

I have enjoyed the 10 days off. Sadly, work starts again tomorrow and I have a big "project" looming there. It will slow the pace on the Great Gazoo to a crawl and not afford me the time I need for anything else. Although I did a bunch of work on the frame off, the wife had me running around partying and drinking beer more that we normally do. It was horrible :D

Here is a list of s*** I want/need to do to the Mule:

-Replace PS Pump
-Front end alignment (Just the toe which I will do myself but need to get some flat bar for that.)
-Rotate tires - I have a bent rim and a new MT to put on
-Replace the skid plate with the IPOR one but I still need to bend that fxxxer back to line it up with the frame
-Rebuild the hard top - for sure less of a priority than getting the hood done on the Gazoo.

Getting the last of the panels done and to paint is a big deal as I have a contract with the painter and he is expecting the business. So little time.
