That was the type of input I was looking for. I do know the tube thickness is the same as the Metal Tech sliders so I would think that would be adequate.

Still no firm decision. I have plenty to do without adding those just yet.

Well, nothing got done on the truck. After the heavy rains this week we discovered some new erosion issues around the house that needed immediate attention. Maybe tomorrow.

Okay -
I went with these

Weld on. Looks like three legs to mount to the frame. Same tubing at Metal Tech and everyone. With shipping, about $60 less than everyone.

And I now have a rear locker installed.

The hardest part was getting the nuts off the damn studs that came out.

I also put on the stout IPOR skid plate. Great plate but it is tweaked and does not fit really well. The guys from IPOR ran it over with a forklift and it spread it apart just enough to make the holes not quite line up. I am thinking about trying to bend it back just a bit in my hydraulic press.

If I try it you may read about me in the paper.

how good is that skid plate I was looking at those... and thinking also.. did you get a good deal on it or what... why not the drill new holes. better than dying.

THe wife just said, "No wonder it doesn't fit!"

I have a couple ideas to try to get it to fit. :hmm:

Just put some ass behind it and make it happ'n cap'n.

just flip it over the other way and drive on it and bend it back.

I tried that. I should have made a video. I put it on a couple 6x6s and it flexed a bit but did not go back. It is about an inch and a half off total so drilling new holes won't quite work. It is two inches too wide for my press. Otherwise I could stick it in there on a couple 6x6s and that would get it.

The guy who owns the driveshaft shop here in town may have a big press and he is pretty friendly. Maybe I could run it over there. :hmm:

That may work. I had not though of that.

I got a forklift you can use in Cartersville. we can monkey fxxx that thing back into shape, Lemme know.

That might work better due to its weight. We could set it on a couple 6 by 6s and shove a fork down on it.
