). On the slider portion, this is just 'crush' zone with appear being the primary consideration. However, if the attachment sections were dented, this would effectively reduce the cross section locally of one of your main supports and lead to increased deflection of the slider under load. Would a deflection increase be enough to worry about? I don't know; because if the slider is very rigid/strong, the deflection increase could be so small that it would be trivial. Also if these sliders are designed with ample clearance to the sheet metal, the additional deflection could be meaningless. However, if the sliders closely fit to the sheet metal and normally deflect 1/2" to 1" when the truck is jacked up by the slider, additional deflections could unwelcome.
