Jackass. Between that, the front seal and the carb you guys may never see the truck again!I recall that
None on that side but got the cowl on the passenger side pretty banged in hitting a rock. Sliders will be the next purchase.

Well, not exactly free, but at quite a discounted rate. I shipped a tranny to Steve that he bought on Mud about two weeks ago. But it goes to show you, what goes around comes around, especially with the good peeps of Mud!
One problem - I am going to Savannah for the weekend so no wrenching!
what trail did you flop it on? top 4 or 8? i didn't have a map so i can barely remember what the numbers are. It is the place I am thinking of you can see the pic below. I was straddling it and my driver side slid down in the crack and plop. It was on one of our night runs.

A little more expensive than Metal Tech but these are bolt on. I haven't decided yet.
Metal Tech shipping is more. If I had thought of it before GSMTR I would have added them to the group buy and just gotten them for $250 from Mark.

Two observations for your consideration:
First The span between the fwd and aft frame attachment looks to be too long. It looks like a support mid way between these is needed, but the attachments are probably spaced to bracket the skid plate.
Second The DOM tubing is probably close to 1/8" wall thickness. This is good for weight considerations, but the thin wall could be dented by a rock (on a bounce or rebound
). On the slider portion, this is just 'crush' zone with appear being the primary consideration. However, if the attachment sections were dented, this would effectively reduce the cross section locally of one of your main supports and lead to increased deflection of the slider under load. Would a deflection increase be enough to worry about? I don't know; because if the slider is very rigid/strong, the deflection increase could be so small that it would be trivial. Also if these sliders are designed with ample clearance to the sheet metal, the additional deflection could be meaningless. However, if the sliders closely fit to the sheet metal and normally deflect 1/2" to 1" when the truck is jacked up by the slider, additional deflections could unwelcome.I know that you will be researching this carefully, so be sure to dig into all the details ... including the design & materials too.
