how do you like the 4.10s on the highway? any wish to bump it up to 4.30?

I am curious as well.

no ... iv driven from LA to TN and LA to AL since installing them (went wheeling in both places) and i have no complains ... doing 70-80 mph 2kish RPM the entire way ... off road they are a big difference in climing ability ... the extra torque you gain really helps pull you over rocks with alot less effort ... if i was running 35" tires i would have gone 4.3 or 4.5 but for 33" i think 4.10 is just right ... probly one of the best purchases iv made on the vehicle i think

Hawk Pride - 3/11/16 ... Preparing for Mardi Krawl 16

-On the weekend of March 11,12,13th Louisiana Land Krewsers Had a Mardi Krawl "PRe KRaWL" / work day ...
-We ran most of the trails that we could in the mud, trimmed some limbs, picked out a place for the first mardi krawl obstacle course, and hung some brand new vinyl wrapped alm trail signs ...
-The park and facility at Hawk Pride looks great, very well maintained, the owner Mark is all about pleasing the drivers and is a believer in if you build it they will come ...

-The trails are awesome!.. there is a trail and obstacle for all driving levels with a good blend of rocks, hard dirt, some water crossings, and of course a little mud ...

-The Louisiana Land Krewsers and Us at SSO and WGW would love to make Mardi Krawl 16 the biggest Lexus turn out in the country ... if you dont have plans April 7-10 make plans to be at Hawk Pride in AL ... If there is enough Lifted Lexus's turnout i'll work to get a Lexus exclusive trail run for one of the days ... which i dont think will be hard being that two of the organizers are supporting members of this group ...

- Rugged Pix will also be at the event taking professional pictures of your ride with a beautiful rock back drop we selected this weekend ... 4x4 Photography | Off Road Photography | Event Photography

-Mardi Krawl is a New Orleans Louisiana "Mardi Gras" theme but this is a family event so feel free to bring your wife and children (i'll have mine with me)...http://www.mardikrawl.com/about-us/

-This is also a TLCA sanctioned NON PROFIT CHARITY EVENT ...This year we will be raising money for the Louisiana Heroes Project. visit Louisiana Heroes Project

-RAFFLE! ... like every event of this kind ... there with be a sponsors charity raffle ... expect bumpers, winches, sliders, camping gear, gift cards, recovery gear, etc... your chance to win for $1 a ticket ... you could win a bumper for a dollar!

-registration has been open since Feb and the early registered attendance has already exceeded all other passed Mardi Krawl events so we expect an great turn out ! ... this event grows every year!

what no lift, JK, looks good

so cute. Looks a bit US forrest service.

Yeah its kinda does but I'll tell ya that was our biggest hang up with this one, was the color but the more we came across it the more we liked it and i dont seem to see many in that color ... but when we saw it in person we fell in love with it ... looks totally different in person ... it actually has more olive shades in person than you can see in the pictures ... the paint def needs buffing

what no lift, JK, looks good

no not yet but that will probly be first since she wants new wheels and bigger tires

LX470 looks nice. I dig that color.

I also really like the GX470 'package' you've put together at this point - Seems really capable and well-rounded...

I wish I could add (1) to the Lexus count for 'Mardi Krawl', but I'm bringing my FJ60... o_O

Nevertheless, I look forward to meeting you and checking out your rig!

i think its inevitable at this point ... i believe the wife has reached the point of "if you cant beat them, join them" ... she already has requested wheels tires, roof rack, rear tire carrier ,:princess: .... i stated that the paint has scratches here and there and shes all " well its gonna get scratched when we take it offroad" :hmm:

This might seem like a dumb question but, what is your avg mpg with all the kit on it? I ask as I am weighing a GX and although my build goals are less than where yours is, I am curious.

Your right that is a dumb question

nah J/k
Usually on road trips im getting around 14mpg on the hwy averaging 70-80 mph ... other than that I dont really drive too far on the daily so dont pay close attention to it

I love my fifteen step commute

Haha, must be nice. Although, my commute is only about 20 minutes so it is not that bad. Thanks for the information. That is actually a bit better than I thought it would be as you are basically still where the sticker said you would be, even with lift and more weight.

I float between 13-17mpg depending on my mood and usage (highway, mixed, city)

Yeah i dont mind it at all iv come from driving silverados all my life ... the way i see it is even though the GX is a "big" vehicle in the in 4wd world its pretty lite on its feet for the amount of motor it has to pull it around ... so your not gonna see much effect on MPG by adding some weight to the vehicle ... there are much heavier (camp equipped overlander) trucks than mine out there that seem to be doing just as good
