Had another sensor that we didn't need, so plugged the hole with a shortened bolt. Installed the new seals, flanges, etc, and used the pressure washer on the trans/transfer, all cleaned up, ready to go.

The end of the pin has a shoulder, it should rest against the hanger, this one went right through.

Made a stepped washer, the correct diameter for the threaded portion.

Drilled the spring hanger to the size of the step. Cleaned, undented, straightened the hanger (as much as possible) then welded it in. Was easier with the driveshaft, bell housing, etc, out, but still not the best place to weld.:hillbilly:

Hopefully this will add some support, will see if it still breaks pins, as often, or just rips the whole hanger off, or what!:hillbilly:

Slobbered paint on the frame rails.

Have been working a ton of little details, like this line. It's the fuel vapor line that was removed for the new rocker/steps. It was outboard, inside the rocker, now routes over the frame rail.

The clutch/bell housing is on, ready for the trans/transfer, hopefully for the last time.

Built Toyota Tough! My money is on the hanger going next. The weak spot would have to be the old rusty rivets.

The hanger is already done  :bang:

at least I continue the tradition of finding my own cracks

Schon kaputt!

Methinks we should link this one.

Then she can break Heim joints and stuff.

And then, we'll offer that she'll test KOH cars pre-race, you know, to find out whether the car has the proper resiliency.

I would be so good at that :hillbilly: :steer: :flipoff2:

I actually think you would be good at it--ha.
now I gotta check mine---

Saw that when doing the pix, was easy to see in full size/rez. Wasn't 100% sure, didn't want to call it, till I put eyes in it,,, yep, cracked. Will apply the smoke wrench,,, again! :hillbilly:

Schon kaputt!

First update for the new forum: It runs, shifts all gears, went gallivanting around the parking lot. :D A "few" things are still needed, like; rear brakes & clutch bled, front drive shaft, skid plate made, not going to sneak up on anyone with the open header, etc.

:bounce: :spaz:

too bad the smileys don't work yet :frown:

She has already tried (successfully) to knock the hangers off of the frame. The drill has been something like; on the trail, note that a hanger is parting company, report to the shop after,,, at about 0 dark thirty, sling some weld,,, good enough to wheel in the morning.:)
