The tailgate support cables are from a 1990ish s10 blazer. Made step/adaptor washers, worked great.

Is that 315 really that much bigger than the 33s on that truck, or is it because you took the pic with the lens at 18mm... :hillbilly:

All the stuff looks really, really good...:)

the spare tire looks HUGE

BMW Scottsdale? Is Claudia getting some help with the resto using corporate sponsorship?:)

I wish

the license plate frame is only for mock-up since they have been outlawed in Arizona recently, presumably because they are blocking too much of the plate

So now that all diamond plate is gone from the back is there any plan to replace the front bib with one from a FJ40 or are keeping the diamond plate bib?

the original bib is in good shape, but was sprayed black by some PO

for now the diamond plate stays :D

More like; don't show them, likely to request it is removed, the rig doesn't meet their standards!:hillbilly:

The way I heard it: Our law enforcement officers couldn't figure out how or couldn't be bothered to, recognize Arizona plates. So, our genius lawmakers passed a law that the "Arizona" must be fully visible, making most of the older plate frames illegal. The more correct version is likely something like; one of the law maker's brother in-law is in plate frame sales and offered a big kickback?:hillbilly:

Well in defense of the cops, AZ now has 41 different plate styles to choose from.:meh:

that said, I have nothing against BMW - I learned to drive on a 2002 way back when :steer:

the instructor looked frazzled when I floored it on the autobahn :hillbilly: - that was at night, and the headlights were woefully dim

A natural progression of speed cameras sadly. In Australia they will ticket you if the plate is dirty or blocked at all by a trailer ball, bike rack or spare.

better start building another one! Double swing spare and Gerry can holder on the other side.

the H55 isn't in yet, so we can't determine whether the rear fenders may need to be "adjusted" some more and where the fender flares will need to be mounted
