Time for a paint job!

Close, kinda, the last big project is the H55/split case/FJ60 rear axle. Still missing some parts, like the vac to mechanical shifter conversion for the split case. That said, it will be going to a painter for a look over/quote this week.

Chopped some holes in the bumper!:hillbilly:

Made a wire harness for the bumper, used a 5 wire trailer plug/harness. Most of it will be inside the bumper, wanted the connections well insulated, so double shrink wrapped them. Crimp them together. ...

Slide the first layer over and shrink, repeat with the second, ~1/2" longer piece.

Plug it in and they all work! As usual, wasn't that easy, the dash was out, etc, wire fun!:hillbilly:

The grommet that we used was from a Camry, tail light even.:hillbilly: It often difficult to find the proper grommet, so they are one of the things that we liberate on the pick & pull runs, have a big box of grommets and plugs.

The trailer setup worked great, one plug and the bumper is ready to come off. There was wires running all over the back of the rig, now most of them just come to the plug on the passenger side rear, much cleaner.

Slobbered several cans of Krylon satin black and bolted it on.

The solid recovery points from Dave at 4+Plus.

Spun up a cap on the lathe for the spindle.

There is little space left for stickers!:o

Ya - I know ... bought a rig from NM once and had a hell of time getting it back to snuff for inspection (have to have inspection to transfer title in Texas) :frown:

Tucker

Yet another reason I don't want to live there...well, that and it's hard to be a Broncos fan in Texas :-)

I love this thread. Rig is looking great!!

I'm probably stupid for asking this, but does "DSRTRDR" stand for "Desert Rider"?

Can we get those tailgate hinges sandblasted?

It's part of the patina.
