Finally could pick up the Troopy from the body shop. As the inside was nicely cleaned up from the horrible inside body spray also the outside was taken care of

Next morning the bling bling had to be put on to see how it would look like

Think the chrome looks nice on the white color.

Holidays, so time to put all the goodies on there bit by bit.

FJ45 Floormat Troopy .jpg

Decided to use the diamond plate rubbermat as rear floor mat.

The thickness of 3/16" is very nice and sturdy.

Difficult to cut with a knife, so it had to be done with a circular saw.

Yes a good price now !

The $7,820 CIF price of 1981 for a FJ45 seems high to me as the price for a FJ40 in the US in these years was a around $3,500 from the dealer if Im well informed.

In Japan, dutiable value is based on CIF terms (Cost, Insurance & Freight), so they almost always prefer to work in CIF instead of FOB. So the $7,820 dollars included the purchase price plus that roughly 1,500 in freight listed on the NYK B/L, as well as transit insurance which is usually handled by the forwarder/broker. The 1,445 on the B/L would be NYK's selling price to the forwarder, not the ultimate price to the importer, unless this was booked directly through NYK. If you like, we'll pay you $15,640 for it & you can double your money! :)

I'm curious... What are the big Fords used for on your islands? Tours?

The nuns would be extremely proud of your restoration!!
