FJ45 blanco 1981 original invoice.jpeg

Having too much time now I read the Invoice from Toyota in Nagoya again and noticed that the FJ45 was transported to Barranquilla in the end of 1981 with the vessel named "DYVI Pacific"

As the 45 is now 39 years old how about the ship that transported it then ?

The "DYVI Pacific" was made in 1970, but capsized in April 2009

The end of the car carrier DYVI PACIFIC in a giant dockside capsize before sea trials were even completed in “One way to get rid of unwanted car carriers……

Some comments on the internet

---Tradewinds reports today that the DYVI PACIFIC struck rocks, capsized and sank whilst on sea trials this week. The 6,700-car vessel had just been christened and had not even been delivered to owner Jan-Erik Dyvi when the incident occured after leaving the builders yard, Weihai Samjin, China. Tradwinds reports that the ship is likely to be considered a total loss.

---A bit embarrassing capsizing in your own backyard, isn't it?!

---I'm wondering if the present economy will result in the ship being scrapped instead of salvaged?! I don't know how much they'll be able to save, but I'm pretty sure engines and electronics will be pretty much ruined by the water and simply the awkward position of the ship! The hull will of course be salvageable, but I doubt any of the equipment onboard will be...

The vessel didn't make it but the Troopy is still alive, this was the technical information I had to share
