I have my doubts it’ll cool the entire rig, but had limited space to work with and it fit the bill, size wise. Hopefully 100 sq ft of Thinsulate acoustic thermal dampener and llumar clear 80 on all the glass, will help the ac do it’s job.
Scraps and I have the same unit in the Restomod version, mine works well at keeping the pig cab cool.
What's your plan to keep the pressure down in the AC system when stoped or driving slow off road? Are you going to add a pusher fan to the front of that AC condenser?

This will cycle the compressor based on pressure in the system. It mounts in the drier and came with the kit. It also signals the 2 speed fan (hi / low) behind the radiator. We will see how it works. There is absolutely no room left to mount anything else behind the grill.

That is a trinary switch and it will let the system know you have a minimum amount of pressure to run the compressor (30/50’ish PSI), it will also shut your system down it gets too high pressure (400’ish PSI), the fan circuit makes contact at 250’ish PSI.

You will have a thermostatic control switch in your unit that will cycle the compressor on and off base on evaporator temperature.

Just an FYI: I cannot pull enough air though my various radiators to keep my pressures in check with the electric engine cooling fan alone when sitting still or slow driving (like driving on a trail), I have to run a small pusher fan to keep everything happy.

Good luck can’t wait to see this beast in person at the party.

That's going to help a lot, quite it down too.

Let’s hope so. I’ve been having to wear earplugs when I’m behind the wheel.

I have another roll of Thinsulate that is going in the doors and quarter panels. It’s also going over the kilmat on the floors. Finally it will be covered in mass loaded vinyl + Oem front 80 carpet/ 55 rear mats.

Loosing Freon :(

After a 2nd unsuccessful attempt to “re crimp” I’m making a 3 hour drive today to have another hose made.

The plan is to leave for PP18 in the morning, but there is still much to be done.

If you need ac fittings, check these guys out!

Auto A/C Fittings

I went by their warehouse where they made me a new hose with steel ends and the proper bubble crimp, on the spot. They even prsssure tested both ends. (400psi underwater)

Never fails, it’s always a couple of all nighters before I’m scheduled to leave for a big trip. The ac is holding steady, so definitely worth the effort. A few more final checks and she will ready for a 5000 mile road trip.

I’m going to home take a shower and a LONG nap. Then, I’ll be hitting the road.

“Hell Ya Brother” - It’s Pig Party time! Safe travels to all the Knights of the fj55 Preservation Society. I’ll see you at the North Rim.
