1997 Toyota Landcruiser FZJ80 – 201,760 Miles

I bought this cruiser from an old mud member back in March of 2014. The engine work below was done right before I bought it and I added or upgraded a lot through my 9 years of ownership, more about all that below.

The engine: Head Gasket failed fall of 2013 under previous ownership. Robby, aka PowderPig on IH8MUD, performed complete rebuild. Bored over to 4.6L with new pistons, rings, bearings, all new seals, head and block decked by Robby’s preferred machine shop, at time of rebuild (130k miles) all of the below was done.
- Rings and pistons cryo'd
- New water pump, radiator ect, fan clutch change out with 20k cst oil, complete new cooling system.
- New AC compressor, dryer, seal kit ect
- New power steering pump
- New alternator brushes
- If it was rubber, it was replaced, all vacuum, and cooling lines
- PHH replaced with blue silicone
- A no expenses spared rebuild, if Robbie recommended it, it was done
- I have since driven over 70k miles on the rebuild and it has been flawless. The increased power of the overbore to 4.6l is noticeable over the stock 4.5l. Rebuild work was done at approx. 130,000 miles.

- New window run trim all the way around.
- Brand new windshield and windshield seal
- Wood veneer removed
- Kenwood head unit
- New Pioneer door speakers all 4 doors
- Rear windows currently don't work. They are intermittent but I have avoided using them for the last few months. From diagnosis I have done they just need new motors.

The truck was just fully repainted in black clear coat with fresh black raptor liner applied to the roof, A pillars and rocker panels by Polished Image Detailing in Fife, WA. All armor was also freshly powder coated in satin black at the time of repaint. The upper rear hatch was replaced with a used green hatch from a friend’s 80 series prior to paint work being done. This was done to fully eliminate rust that had begun to spread in the factory upper hatch, I still have the factory hatch if the buyer wants it.

I have the original window sticker and a binder full of receipts of every factory or aftermarket part I have purchased. I am very fortunate to have a family member that works for my local Toyota Parts department and OEM was used wherever possible unless a better aftermarket option was available.

I bought this truck over 9 years ago when my oldest son was born and it has faithfully taken my family on countless adventures and camping trips all over the PNW and to Montana and back 3 times. It's hard to see it go but we have out grown it (3 kids and 2 dogs now) and I don't use it as often as I'd like to. I would love to see it go to someone who will use it like we used to. I'm currently not driving the truck and it will be in indoor storage until sold so mileage will stay right around 201,760.

In short this is an opportunity to own a fully built, LC with factory lockers ready for anything.

$32,500 and willing to arrange shipping at the buyers expense

Back end, just rebuilt the swing out with new bearings, races, piston and latch. Spare tire is brand new, all other corners have solid tread. I've loved these Pro Comp ATs overall. Great in wet weather and snow, solid road manners.
