Found a roller of a 1994 FZJ80. As I am old I don't necessarily enjoy full leaf springs any more. Curious if anybody has ever heard of putting a Piggy on this frame / suspension to gain that bitchin' ride. I have some fab skills and access to master fabricators. So I have that going for me, which is nice.

AFAIK, Deo and @TachedOutOffRoad have both done it.
I think there are a few others IIRC? I think there might be 2 more I can't put my finger on - maybe one is in Australia?

@mcguirejohnson put a 60 body on a 80 frame...

@brisveganbj42 recently completed his in Australia.

Hello!

I used a 1994 FZJ80 Chassis and running gear and used factory axels. Using +30 offset 16" Split rims from an 80 series you can get the wheels flush with the guards without body mods.

Zero offset split rims or 16" LX rims (also zero offset) give about 1-2 inches of tyre poke.

Very happy with the ride quality although its been a while since I've had to endure leaf springs, even then it was pretty compliant ride..

I could probably do with some adjustable panhard rods to even up the tyre poke.. as you can see one side is more than the other.

I think if you've got the skills and resources its a worthwhile venture.. The more modern platform and drivetrain makes for economical and comfortable driving thats for sure
