I'm loving mine but I've F'd with it

I'm all over northern California and the Sierras. I have an SC with meth injection. Also regeared to 4.88s with 35" tires.
The good news: it hauls ass compared to regular FJ/FJZ80s. It will do 95 on a flat highway if there's no wind and the temp is low.
The bad news: I'm having real world issues with overheating and having my timing pulled. Climbing Donner Pass means it'll pass the 18 wheel rigs but does slog down still on the steeper inclines. In the dead of summer I really have to watch out, as I had the timing pushed out to the limit and dropped the pulley size way down. It was throwing dets until I backed off on the timing. Also ran into the issue of over pressurizing my crankcase and blew the dipstick into the hood insulation (and spewed black smoke out the exhaust pipe) halfway up to Tahoe in July. Good times. I also think the SC *may* be overpowering my fuel pump.
Fast forward to now... I strongly recommend getting an IC and a snorkel. That's where I'm going next to deal with the temperature issues. Also, if you do decide to go meth, do NOT use windshield washer fluid unless you like to have blue-green scum gumming up your SC, intake, and everything else. Go with straight meth that you can buy at a race fuel outlet. Other items on my to-do list include replacing the fuel pump and the fuel injectors. Already did the fuel filter. Been having issues with mild hesitation on hills between 2 to 3k RPMs.
PS- I've never actually overheated due to the SC. What happens is my power disappears on inclines in the summer as my timing is pulled thanks to the heat.
PPS- I've seen absolutely ZERO change in performance with the meth kit and regret getting it in the first place. I think the only thing it has helped with is to keep my engine from detonating because I'm running 7 PSI with a smaller pulley along with advanced timing. Advanced timing that gets yanked by the ECU when the engine gets too hot in the summertime...
I feel like I'm talking in circles.
