Looks good I have gone back and forth on putting a tire on the rear of mine . Its just that a 40 is so big on the back , plus then i would not have a place for fuel or my cooler . But i think it looks cool

I had plans to put fuel and water on the back of the spare but I might not do that as the carrier is getting heavy. I’ll have to see how sturdy the bumper gets when I have all of the reinforcements in. I can’t get caught in the middle of Nevada with a flat tire!

Ditch the spare, use that rack to carry all the stuff Elsie displaces, go to tractor supply and get a tube if your worried.

My bad, eyes dont focus early in the morn, type 2 diabetes. You got any idea what your gas tank costs to build ?

Been trying to find a tube that will fit, size is not the issue it’s where valve stem is located with tractor tubes.
I want to ditch my spare 😂

No spare for me either, too much hassle. PowerTank, beadlocks, ARB air compressor as backup and a really good tire repair kit like @Firemedic831

I think that many of you might be forgetting that I plan to drive this Cruiser across the country and potentially through Canada and Alaska. When I say “drive”, I mean on the road and not up onto a trailer. Tubes and sidewall patches are good temporary measures, but I wouldn’t want to drive very fast or for a long distance like this, and I can’t count on sourcing a 40” tire in the middle of Nevada, Wyoming, or other remote locations. Plus the tube will interfere with the balance beads.

If that doesn’t sell it, the 40” tire on the back just looks mean. I do believe that there might be some jealousy here in the comments to ditch the spare 😄

Agreed. Plus, the back of a 40 really needs a spare to look correct. Granted, I know we’re in the hardcore section but it doesn’t hurt.

Speaking of jealousy, when are you going to get that roof top tent mounted?

I mounted the tent last night and I love it!
