Has anyone switched out a '92 FJ80 Stock Steering Wheel to a Aftermarket Steering Wheel (Nardi, MOMO, Sparco, etc...) with a Quick Release? Will this affect anything on the cruiser?

adding an aftermarket steering wheel will not affect the drive ability of the LandCruiser FJ80. Make sure the hub adapter is compatible with the quick release you choose. Sparco offers a great steering wheel and hub adapter for 91+ FJ80. Here is a website for a dealer that sells MOMO, Sparco, OMP and quick release Lifeline.

Hope this information is useful.

thanks for the info Tito. It's an accessory I would like to put on as an added set of security for my vehicle cuz I love my F80 investment that I have to park on the street in my neighborhood from time to time.

Tow truck stole my last vehicle. Don't need a steering wheel to do that. Just saying.

We can hope theres not to many tow trucks running around committing grand theft auto. Not much is going to keep one of those guys from taking your rig. The average d!ck though would probably pass buy a vehicle without a steering wheel.

Half K - An average dick would pass buy a rig without a steering wheel

You're right, but his first post is about adding some ricer accessory.

I wouldn't call it a ricer accessory :meh:

It serves a pretty good purpose to deter theft as well as making entry/exit easier :hmm:

I don't have much issue with my Cruiser, but I sure wish I had one in my Road Runner

Damn seat doesn't go back far enough and trying to squeeze my fat arse behind the school bus sized steering wheel can be a chore

That being said, I find it hilarious when I see people walking around with a steering wheel and even more so when they forget to tighten it properly

I've witnessed quick attach steering wheels come off three separate times; once at an autocross event where the car ended up plowing three other vehicles, and twice while out wheeling with both incidents ending with the vehicles into trees (thank God not off into a ravine).
Personally I'd save the race goodies for a track where there's the expectation that something could go wrong, versus the street where a person could end up causing a pileup, but that's just my opinion and paranoia at play.
