Once I get my 5.29s set up my speedo is going to be way off, I see both Marks 4wd and Yellow box make units that correct, any real difference between the two? Any other solutions I'm missing?

I ordered the scanguage II. Saw a lot of reviews on YouTube. It runs codes, speed, temp, mpg, and other features.

I use a Yellowbox in my 100 series, and I'm very happy with it. It seems that they've updated their design from previous versions, and it was super easy to install and has been great to use. It was plug and play inline with the factory speed sensor harness, with a perfect length cable to run up to the DS kick panel. Obviously might be slightly different for the 80, but I would guess the execution would be similar. It took me a couple of tries to get the speed perfect, which was really easy to adjust, and I haven't thought about it in the couple of months since install. It just works. It sounded way more complicated reading older postings about the unit, but the new one has a couple of buttons. Quick push on one is +1%, quick push on the other is -1%. Hold down to count up/down by 10%. Or something like that. Really easy.

I did the YellowBox install basically like this - Yellow Box V5 Plug and Play Install With Pics
I am very happy with it.

I have had the Mark's box installed under my dash for along time. I actually forgot about it. Works good. Set and forget.

I recently discovered that there are a variety of combinations of different "gears" for the speed sensor in the transfer case available from Toyota. You can change those gears to correct the speedo for a 100% OEM solution.

I used the yellowbox plug and play. Unbolted the emergency brake, ran the wires through the gap, bolted it back down. I shoved the box and extra wire in a bag and shoved the bag under my center console. It was super easy to install and program.

Can you provide some more info on this? I’d like a factory solution like you’re talking about. Part numbers??

Yeah I've never heard of this either. It seems Slee at one point had gears like he is referring to but never heard of OEM, that just wouldn't make sense honestly

Used a "yellow box" that was purchased from Slee. Mounted it underneath the center console and used existing grommets to run the wires through the transmission tunnel. No problems and it's been in use for the past few years...

I looked into those OEM speedo adjust gears several years ago. Looked to be discontinued.

They also don’t typically correct enough. I believe you could only get about a 6% correction replacing the speedo gear.

Dakota digital sgi-5e I think it is. Cheaper than the others and there's a pretty decent write up on here. Easy Install and it works great.

I have The Marks. Mine is the old style and I have a new version for my wife's truck. Awesome units, infinitely adjustable in 1% increments.
They plug in-line and are easy to adjust/tune. I have found in the case of my truck that my indicated speed and odometer have about a 2% difference between the two. With the Marks I can dial in on either the odometer or the indicated speed.

More info in this thread:

Many of the gears seem to be NLA, but some are still available overseas.

You can get up to about 20% correction with various OEM transfer/speedo gear sets. Which is WAY more than anyone would need. If you're off by more than 10% you really need to re-gear..

This unit looks like the one to go with.

I’m considering buying and using one of these....

Shipping will probably hurt those in the US, but I don’t see why the other kits listed as so fricken expensive. Changing a square wave Hall effect signal can be done with a few cents worth of components. In fact I was considering building something on an adrino board for less than $10... but the $45 jaycar option is less stuffing around.
