I left NC on Friday and got to Moab today for a couple days of exploring. Anyone local to Moab got time to show me around this weekend before heading to ouray? Or suggestions on a couple trails. I’m alone but hoping to find someone to ride with at the trailheads otherwise.

2k miles in and the LX is doing pretty well. Thought the pass west of Denver was gonna do us in but she pulled through.
I won’t tag him because his notifications will blow up from all the activity on this thread, but @ Moabyte met up with us last year and gave us some Trail tips. We had done the same thing as you, gone to Moab the weekend before SAS. Maybe send him a PM.

Does the KOA generally have plenty of firewood... or does our group end up depleting them? I'm assuming you all have rules in CO about importing firewood in any case.
Also, what time does the gathering around the coffee usually start each morning?

We are packing in earnest... depart Sunday morning EARLY.

KOA has plenty of the little crappy bundles of fir for about $5 and will deliver to campsite.

There may be rules about contraband firewood but it doesn’t seem to be enforced.

Coffee is usually brewed by 0700

Anyone have a spare Lokar S-1034 throttle cable to carb fitting they can bring to SAS for my Sniper carb? Messed mine up tonight trying to fine tune the length of the linkage (don’t ask how...😩). I think I can rig the current versionenough to still get me to Ouray, but not confident enough to use it on the trails. Have not been able to source one locally yet, and can’t get one overnighted to arrive until possibly Sat afternoon at the earliest and hoping to leave already early Sat a.m. More than happy to pay for time, mileage, etc.

PM me Thxs

Have it shipped to KOA and install when you get there?

Congrats! been working on mine all week still no cold air! found a leak though but still no cold air after finding it.

I just built the system, but had to figure out the pwm controlled variable displacement control for it. Lots of fun with a multimeter lol.

You have a good charge with the leak?

Update on the 25.

Coil went into nuclear meltdown mode, but its currently up and running.

Well we should be on the road by now  but some unexpected weirdo was ringing the door bell at 1:30 AM last nite o_O
Was impossible to get back to sleep so letting the Missus get a little sleep this morning so she's not cranky on the road 😂
Sassy did a great Job alerting us, as did the Morro Bay police they were here in under 3 minutes

6:15 Friday am….‘On the road again’.👍🎯👍

Done.. although “overnight” express shipping to Ouray is an oxymoron…. might arrive on Monday, but more likely Tues…. we shall see

Rolling out of Denver. See y’all Sunday evening.

Just an FYI - Looks like the site numbers for KOA have been switched up since last year. (New on top) I also see a new playground and a blob, which the kids loved at a KOA we stayed at in Michigan earlier in the year. They declared that place was the best campground ever because of the blob. Sounds like Ouray KOA is stepping it up!

I really like the addition of the stripes!
Thanks! Those are from Touge Nation out of Australia. Quality stuff, if a bit difficult to install since I picked the smallest stripes haha. There’s also the entirely new suspension, 40 wheels, upgrades electrical, Saginaw steering pump, Gamiviti rack, buffing the paint so the whole truck is the same color, etc etc. it’s the little things. And big things.

Thank god they still have the inoperable mining sluice. I was worried.
