The existence of my cruiser is a myth; similar to "Big Foot" or " The Lock Ness Monster".... some say it doesn't really exist...
Darrell @The Machinist

Why, lookee here, I think we have a picture of Darrell’s 60...it DOES exist! SAS1 2017.

Well putzed around on our KOA booking and looks like everything is full. So we will likely be camping out in the boonies. If anyone has room at their KOA spot for Sun-Tues for me the wife and the doggos I make some mean food and will happily pitch on fees. Otherwise, we might just make our way to the spot each AM. *insert comment about procrastination.

I'm in 42A, pretty sure the site has room for another truck. Come on!

Hahaha. You sir have way too much time on your hands. Why don't you fix one of your Landcruisers so you can bring it 😂.

Thats actually a co-workers car. They are going to be up around Buena Vista at the same time were at SAS.

I was laughing the whole 15 minutes took me, well worth it 😂 I won't jinx myself, but I think I will make it this year in one of them.

I just got back from Ouray / Silverton / Telluride yesterday. I stayed at the KOA. The campground was full and bustling with people and campers. No trails are blocked by snow, all trails were open except Poughkeepsie (word is some a****** went off the trail and destroyed a bunch of vegetation) so they shut down the whole trail. Please do not leave the trails, we want to be welcome back to this town each year. Weather was perfect and it was a blast. Most every town has face mask restrictions. You have to wear a mask to enter a restaurant, but you can take it off when you sit down. No mask restrictions in the KOA. I am very excited to meet you all and will be at he SAS. Lets all plan on it and make it happen.

Excellent. Always enjoy reading a good field update report. Thank you.

Btw, I don’t think I saw a single person on any trail (except hikers) Wearing a face mask. It’s your choice imo. There’s not going to be police up there giving tickets.

Sadly we aren’t going, but it’s not due to COVID. We are buying a house and closing ended up at the same time SAS starts. I will be sending coffee to drink along with my giant percolator for the SAS crew to enjoy. Also I’m sending some raffle prizes (some cool and some gag).
If you want coffee from me, send me a pm and I’ll get you payment instructions and send it to SAS for you to pickup.
I am bummed, but will be there back in action next year!
I will be giving up my spot to @Yackster assuming he wants it.

Unfortunately, I have to bail. Too much going on this year to ever make it around to getting my truck in order. We may still be in the area, albeit in my wife’s IFS LX.

Cabin 21 is up for grabs now as of a few minutes ago.
