John, just to reminisce a bit, I ‘think’ this is a shot as we were getting ready to go up.😜

That is our plan actually, thanks for asking. You are more than welcome to purchase some raffle tickets to fund that as well. Are you located in Ouray?
No I’m south of Kerrville. I did register and purchased 25 tickets.

No sleep til Ouray...

Wasn’t plannin’ to go
Thought my wife would say no
Got an invite from Nook
And I took a look
It was about Solid Axle Summit

Got the green light
Quickly booked it that night
Started making plans
Gonna cover the land

So ya better get in gear

No sleep til Ouray...

to the tune of the Beastie Boys.

So I was just thinking about the number of 60-series engine mounts that failed on the trail last year. We should make an effort to be sure someone brings things like that.

I know everyone is more than willing to lend a hand wrenching and pitch in whatever parts they have. What I'd like to do is throw together a quick sheet of "mission critical spares" for each of the common vehicles. By putting your name/parts on, you would be making them available to those in need, and we'd know right where to go to get what instead of waiting till everyone is back at camp and making the rounds asking for this and that. It could be a real time saver.

Any thoughts on the best way to organize/store this? Will folks contribute if I throw this up on a google drive?

I'm picturing something like this: (not an actual/exhaustive list, just a demo). There's also an area for specialty tools/universal parts and a column to the right not visible that shows the capsite number.

I love this idea, I have a box full of parts from my recent engine and trans overhaul. I actually kept my two motor mounts that were only a couple years old for this exact reason. (Well... and ratchet straps) I think a drive is the best way for everyone to access it here.

I like the idea of a shared spares list @Kleatus there were a few trail fixes.

That's fuel in that can we were pouring into the carb on @NookShneer truck as we tried to get him going. See @CenTXFJ60 I've poured fuel into a carb or two before

While the 80 was fun last year and was nice to sit in during the cold weather on top of Imogene while we watched Jake fix his diff, I'll have the 40 this year.

I will also have a decent spare parts bin, including shock bolts @ceylonfj40nut ahem.

I’ll include and update my list later Incase anyone needs anything on the trail or during the duration of the event. Mostly 80 series parts.

Did I ever share how much I love removing 33 yr old glue? I started the Gossamer forum again. Listing the projects I have been doing to it since I bought it. I know some people in this SAS #4 group have been following Gossamer since Wyoming started the 4bt project. I know some of them will be there. @Dilspec @The Phoenician @Hojack maybe @boots4 @TRAIL TAILOR. So I am going to be spending a lot of my summer working on Gossamer, starting today, to make sure it is 90% (because as FJ owners I don't think we ever feel like we reach 100%. There is always another project to do to it). So already this has gotten a fire under my ass to get on the things that I keep pushing off till next weekend. So I am glad the the clutch went out last year, the day before SAS #3 started. So I took a break from removing the heater core to enjoy a glass of whiskey and say thanks.
