But what happens if I just show up cause I'm like 3 hours away? Just kidding. I'll shoot you an email.
We have addressed this every year as follows.....
The town of Ouray, Co. The County of Ouray, the trails in and around the San Juan's and the National Forest Land is all public property. SAS is simply a date each year that falls in a somewhat open time frame that is best timed to a. Not happen at the same time of other events and b. it is late enough in the season to allow ample snowpack melt off and have the most trails available to us.
That being said I as a director of SAS LLC. can and will not say you can't attend all or part of the week. We encourage all Cruiser owners to come hang out.
The registration fee includes several things that we source and provide for paid attendees. Limited run of shirts, trail flags, grill badges, stickers and the like.
The number of 75 is what we have decided to be the most manageable and enjoyable experience for those that chose to sign up.
What we do want to avoid is a large number of people showing up and change people perception of what owning and driving these cool old trucks on the trail.
So in summery, you are more than welcome to come by, hang out, hit the trails, have a beer and tell lies around the campfire. The gathering as all about Cruiser Brotherhood in a beautiful environment.
All of the directors and numerous volunteers have full time jobs. This is all done out of the passion to hang out with cool people from all over this great nation. If you or anyone else can show up and be cool, we don't have a problem with it. I personally don't care for busy and crowded places like the Mall at Christmas time. No thanks, I am very positive that most if not all of the people that have paid attention and registered feel the same way.
I will be more than happy to add you to the waitlist. Your odds of actually getting in are fairly good honestly. The sooner you do the better the chances.
Thanks, Casey...
