I told Jeri, the Mack's are getting ready, we better hurry up. I'm topping off all the batteries and got the camping box in, so she can fill it up. We made arrangements for feeding the animals, should be good to go. Oh, one thing, Jeri got a summons for jury duty on the 10th. At our age, you think they'd let you slide. :) One way or the other, she isn't making that one. I sure could use Jim's lift to put those collector bolts in.

Nothing like waiting to the last minute. My tailgate window goes up nice and fast, but started to slow going down. Now it doesn't like to finish the down travel without helping. I took the glass out and it does better without the glass, but still not right. I have several other motors, but before I do that, do you guys think the motor is bad ( I don't know electric motors ) or something else? Oh, the felt/rubber track inserts are not bunched up or binding. All connections seem to be tight and clean with two separate grounds. What do you think?

IIRC that motor has two sets of windings: one for forward and one for reverse. Given that it operates just fine in one direction, I don't think it's the wiring or battery. It's probably the reverse set of windings in the motor - aka motor is going bad. Pack up with a spare and change it later if you have to. Don't forget to bring two clamps.

Clamp on meters can tell you alot about what's going on.
To use a standard meter for amps you need to break the circuit and you're limited to 10 amps.
My clamp on meter will read 400a which is overkill in this application but nice to have.

Instead, wire the switch in reverse so up goes down and down goes up and see if it works any better going down...
That will check the switch contacts.

At least rule out the switch.
