I tried the search but I never have good luck. I guess I’m looking for the next project on this thing and want to re do the running boards. Do I just get some generic ribbed rubber mats and cut them up or is there a product you recommend that fills the bill without breaking the bank?

I found ribbed black vinyl-on-a-roll at Home Depot that was thin and worked well for my '65 running boards. Looked very old-school.

I think it was this, since this is thin (0.13" thick): Workforce Black 24 in. x 4 ft. Vinyl V-Groove Commercial Grade Matting 3V-018-24-4C - The Home Depot - https://www.homedepot.com/p/Workforce-Black-24-in-x-4-ft-Vinyl-V-Groove-Commercial-Grade-Matting-3V-018-24-4C/322031856#overlay

You'd have to go see it in person to see if it's right for this application.

Thought it might be valuable for someone one day to see how the pyramid mat is cut on the NOS ones. Just in case someone is trying to be ridiculously accurate on a resto in the future. Can’t imagine anyone doing this though….

I want to say amazon.

I looked quickly last night but didn’t see any that easily fit the bill (just buying a section without special ordering or paying a bunch of shipping).
Maybe I’ll look again. The truck is obviously not concourse but I’d like to stay close to original theory if its reasonable.

I used the pyramid vinyl in black. Thought it matched the rest of my vehicle better than white. Also used stainless pan head fasteners from Mcmaster-carr.

Thanks for the inspiration. Just ordered some of this pyramid mat.. I've been considering what to do with mine for a while..
The steps were replaced as part of the Meano conversion with an elongated aluminium step; very solid, but a bit slippery.
