Thats aweosme! I think I saw this video before! Yeah we could talk photography for hours. witch is bad because I think we would talk land cruiser for hours too! If you are ever in my neck of the woods please hit me up!

Actually heading to North Carolina (Asheville area) for a wedding in August.

Conley 8x10, Wista 8x10, Conley 5x7, Wisner 4x5, Linhof Master Tech 4x5 & 120 roll film backs,…

I could spend a wee bit of time yakking up this stuff. Plus darkroom development and enlarging, Azo contact silver chlorides, Ilfochromes, salt/VanDyke contacts, …

And old cruisers 😉 LF and Alternative Photography forums are probably better for the above stuff though 😂.

Sinar and Deardorff 8x10’s, Sinar f and p, as well as a Linhoff Tecknika IV 4x5 with (among a bevy of other lenses) a Schneider Linhoff select 150/2.8.
Mamiya, hasselblad and Shen Hao medium format.
And then of course, the trailerCamera, which doubles as a darkroom, though I have another one as well.

I tried to talk about LandCruisers on the large format forum and the crickets were audible.

Love photography! have not ventured into large format yet. But I have shot lots and lots of medium format. I just picked up this Rolleiflex 3.5f that had been CLA'd last year for a good deal. Been shooting it all week! I have used a hasselblad for years for personal and professional stuff. and last year I bought a Fuji GW690III and that camera is pretty epic too. I have got some nice shots with these but I cant beleive I have never picked one of these Rolleis up. I really like that the focus throw is so much quicker than my hasselblad. I think I am going to be an odd ball and pick up a Prism finder for it soon. I used my friends Rollei a few weeks ago and I loved it. so I had to go out and buy one. Just so I have not left out a land cruiser here is a photo I took with my hasselblad of my old fj80. I wish I still had that car!

I know very little about photography, but love that camera as a machine.

Pretty pictures, too!
Right! its one of the things I love about old cameras. This Rolleiflex camera is actually really close in age to my fj40. from the serial number it could be from as early as 1961 but as late as 1979. but some of the features date it to early 1960s. Pretty cool.

some little things done today! I am waiting on the tail light cones but the brakets came in. the tail lights fit in the bracket! how would you guys paint the brackets? additionally I finished my rear passenger seats finally. I have had the upholstery since after my wedding. They turned out good! I was going to keep the patina but I found some bad rust scaling under the old cushions so I had to paint them. going to bolt everything down tomorrow.

Additionally if anybody knows a good way to free an old tire hinge bracket thing ( cant remember the name) Please inform me. I about about to resort to a torch. Last photo.

I like Corrosion X for stuff that is stuck, it’s pretty amazing.

I'm curious if anyone has ever drilled and tapped for a grease zerk fitting into these early spare tire carrier hinges, and, if so, if it makes any difference noticeable in their operation.

If I ever get it free I may do that.

Intriguing idea. I should definitely take mine apart to grease them. At that point I should take a look at the inside to see where a zerk could go.

One of my surf camp instructors drives a fj60. its a pretty cool one although pretty crusty now. Not much to update. I am waiting on a few parts to come in still. If anybody knows where to get a good head liner let me now. I think I am going to go with the cruiser corps one. I should have done this while my top was off though.

40s are pretty cool without headliners as well... ;)

I highly recommend the Permatex headliner spray adhesive. Don't try the gorilla glue or other ones. I used the Permatex to re-adhere mine in some spots it was dropping. It was a quick and dirty job, didn't really prep or do it the right way. And it's held for years.

I like to hear it was a quick job. I really need to pull the cap back off soon to reset the gasket above the windshield so I figured it would be a good time to install a headliner. I feel like it would make it seem alot nicer inside. looks like it would be pretty strait forward to line up and everything.

These look pretty good! I still need to pull off the brackets and paint them but it looks better to my eyes with the correct tail lights. I am going to buy the oem reflectors for it soon too. I got the 3d printed cones from @Cruiser Cult and one tail light from @Cruiser Corps and the other tail light from Shop cruiserparts and the brackets from spector off road.

Still having the issue where the drivers side break light wont work. all the other lights work. I think maybe it could be the break switch? I have one on order. Ill do a little digging under the dash and check the connections some time this weekend.

Find it hard to believe that the divers & passenger brake lights are on separate circuits from the switch to the back of the truck. I would confirm this to be true before spending a bunch of time up at the switch, otherwise, I would be looking at other possibilities at the light or with the wiring to the light that is not functioning. Even the bulb....

its a new bulb and new tail light. it was doing this prior as well. The reason I am assuming the break switch is It would work some times with a heaver push of the breaks. that again could be just coincidence too. I am pretty sure that break switch is an original part under there. Looks kinda crusty. I Might as well replace it anyway. Not too hard to replace the switch. you are completely right though.. I am going to do some more wiring tracing to make sure its not a weird splice or something like that that was done in the past.

On my '69, the rear wiring harness runs down the passenger frame rail. The harness split and ran across the rear crossmember to the drivers side. I'd spend some time looking at that wiring and the split that goes to the drivers side. I went ahead and put a junction block in the rear and re-wired everything to both tail lights. This helps tracing circuit issues, as you can go right to the junction block and make sure everything from the cab is working correctly. Same wiring junction block as to what is used for the front lighting circuit on the earlier FJ40's.
